Prior to that, he was an award-winning general surgery intern and resident at Howard University in Washington, DC, and completed an elite, two-year post-doctoral research fellowship at Harvard University/Brigham and Women&rsquos Hospital in Boston. He earned his medical degree with honors in surgery at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. Care Philosophy: Norbert Garcia-Henriquez, MD is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. His areas of expertise include the use of minimally invasive surgery in the management of colon and rectal cancer, including advanced laparoscopy and transanal surgery. He has a special interest in the management of complex inflammatory bowel disease and he is proficient in the treatment of all common and complex anorectal disorders, including hemorrhoids, fistula in ano, and perianal/perirectal abscesses.
