He played collegiate soccer and was previously drafted into Major League Soccer. As a former athlete, he understands how musculoskeletal problems can significantly affect patients, both physically and mentally. Following this he was awarded a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. (A fellowship is an extra year of specialized training that a physician chooses to pursue after completing medical school and residency training). Dr. Mudrick and his staff evaluate and treat patients with hip and knee pain arising from arthritis, traumatic injury, and congenital / developmental conditions. He performs both partial and total knee replacements as well as total hip replacements using a minimally invasive direct anterior approach. He also treats young adult hip conditions including hip dysplasia and femoroacetabular impingement or ``FAI`` employing hip arthroscopy as well as periacetabular osteotomy, or ``PAO`` (a specialized procedure to reshape the hip socket in order to preserve a young patients native hip). During his fellowship he also focused on the treatment of complications that have arisen after previous hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Mudrick grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia.
