Not happy
Dr. Mariscalco appeared to be in a hurry, he did not seem at all interested in me. He did not want to know any information about me, only that he saw the previous rotator cuff surgery on my record. He said he would order at CT scan which could take a while. He didn't offer any relief, like- have you had an injection? I had to ask for a prescription for something in the meantime. He might have been in the room 5 minutes - new patient.

Not Professional
While he was nice enough, it was very obvious that he had not looked at my records-at all. He came into the exam room not knowing any of my (extensive) history, and then was clearly in too much of a hurry to even log into the computer in the room to look at it. I'll definitely be switching my care to VCU.

Very Helpful
I was called to the exam room by courteous staff, after a short wait. Dr. Mariscalco came in and quickly diagnosed my problem and we discussed several treatment options. I chose to proceed with an injection in this visit. Dr. Mariscalco was gentle; using freezing spray. It was not a bad experience at all. I was given exercises, which I have done for two days so far and I have marked improvement already. I’m only sorry I waited so long to finally see a doctor.

Very pleased
New to area and needed new ortho for an injury to my knee. All of the staff that I had interaction with, Becky and Heather were extremely helpful and professional but also friendly. So pleased with Dr. Mariscalco! Listened and took time to explain. I like that he takes a conservative approach and not just all about surgery ! Would definitely recommend and will return if needed!!

Trust him completely
Dr Mariscalco has great bedside manner. He takes time with you to fully explain what needs to happen & why. He’s very thorough & explains things so you understand them. He gives you options. I had surgery this past summer. I had no worries going into it that I’d be treated well. With follow up visits, concerns, prescription refills he & his team listen to their patients. He is very calming & honestly cares about people in his care. Highly recommend him.

This was my third visit to Dr. Mariscalco over the past 5 years. I have shoulder impingement and partial tear in my right rotator cuff. On my first visit he ordered an xray and MRI to determine what the problem was. He then gave me a cortisone shot which I never felt! It gave me such relief that I was able to play pickleball and golf again. I started having the same pain in 2020 and he gave me another shot which gave me relief again. In April of 2022 I started having pain again and returned to get a third injection of cortisone. Dr. Mariscalco has a very good bedside manner. He takes his time with you and listens. I highly recommend him!!!

This was a second (left) shoulder Surgery. Dr Mariscalco preformed surgery on my right shoulder previously. The proceedures were very successful and i have good function of both arms with no pain. I found Dr Mariscalco a reliable surgeon as well as very pleasant !
