Biography: My interest in medicine started early in college. I witnessed a motor vehicle accident on the highway and thought it would be good to have the skills to help people in need. I became an emergency medical technician and eventually a paramedic. Helping people with medical problems is both challenging and rewarding. This experience was the foundation my medical career has been built on. \n As an internist, I am able to care for any adult. In addition to being an internist, I am also a fellowship-trained and board-certified geriatrician. I enjoy the challenge of managing complexities that present in later life. Older patients bring great stories and perspective into the exam room. \n Having practiced over 20 years, I am comfortable managing complicated medical problems like heart failure or diabetes, but health promotion gives me the greatest satisfaction.
