Dr. William Nordt is an orthopedic surgeon at the Parham Doctors Medical Complex. He tells us surgery should still be a last resort.We put people in programs where we try to understand how they carry the forces through their knee joint and why that knee joint is deteriorating in a specific area. And then through neuromuscular training, or physical therapy we try to reduce the forces on that joint.

He listens to each patient and strives to provide individualized care while incorporating the latest technology.Dr. Mariscalco has been with the OrthoVirginia group in Richmond since completing his fellowship training in 2013. He is married and the proud father of four children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with is family, hiking, biking and coaching youth soccer.

Biography: Ahmad Fashandi, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Chippenham Orthopedics, affiliated with Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Fashandi earned his medical degree at University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency and an orthopedic surgery trauma fellowship at University of Virginia. In addition, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Virginia.Dr. Fashandi is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has specialized training in orthopedic surgeries for traumatic injuries and joint replacements. He provides comprehensive management of fractures of acute and chronic injuries for adults and children including pelvic and acetabular fractures as well as pathology involving soft tissue and infection. In addition, he provides general orthopedic care. When not caring for patients, Dr. Fashandi enjoys cooking, wood working, exercise, and spending time with his two young daughters.
