He performed a hip scope on me four years ago to fix my torn labrum. He did not fix me at all.He removed the piece of my torn labrum and then burred/removed way too much of my femoral head.My labrum retore 2 months after surgery.I finally had surgery again &my femoral head looks like a 83 year old woman's.My new surgeon said it looked this way bc Dr. L didn't take care in placing the tools through the trocar so each time he hit it leaving osteoarthritis all over.Dont let him do this to you.

If you have a genetic condition Ehlers Danlos Syndrome I can not recommend him. I do not feel like he has a solid understanding of the disease process with regards to pain management. He does not seem to understand that longterm patients with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome need pain management. I personally think that all of the doctors in the orthopaedic speciality at UVA are part of the good old boys network.

His 25+ years of experience and his offense not to perform surgery make him one of the if not the best orthopedic in Richmond. Great doctor. Has helped me with 10+ injuries in 20+ years and only one surgery.
