Biography: Callie Jewett, M.D. is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and shoulder surgery at the Orlando Orthopaedic Center. She treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including ligament, tendon, and cartilage injuries to the shoulder, knee and ankle. She also specializes in hip preservation surgery, including labral repair and reconstruction and gluteal tendon repair.Born and raised in College Park, Dr. Jewett is an Orlando native. After graduating from Winter Park High School, she completed her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science at Wake Forest University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then went on to pursue her medical degree at the University of Florida, where she graduated at the top of her class with academic honors. Dr. Jewett completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. During residency she served in several leadership positions including administrative chief resident. After residency she completed fellowship training in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and shoulder surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.Dr. Jewett has broad experience with team coverage and the care of athletes. She has served as team physician to several local high schools and as assistant team physician for several college and professional sport teams including the Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Tech Football, and Georgia Tech Basketball. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy for Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Society for Sports Medicine and has authored research articles and book chapters.Outside of the office, Dr. Jewett enjoys spending time with her family, practicing & teaching yoga, and traveling.
