Refused surgery
Jim O' May Dr. Masons PA refused to do hip replacement because my BMI was to high. He strung me along for almost a year to make me loose weight and then refused to help me. Never even got to talk to Doctor Mason. By the time I was able to get in to see another surgeon my hip was in real bad shape. They did not worry about BMI. Would never recommend Dr. Mason or his PA for anything.

After Dr. Mason‘s office called and canceled my appointment at the last minute they rescheduled me for the following week at a time that I told them would be very difficult for me to make. I did my best but as someone who owns two businesses I was underwater that day and called them early in the morning to say I would have to reschedule because I couldn’t get away. They had the audacity to charge me $850 for a “no-show” appointment. $850! Are you kidding me? THEY canceled MY appointment and then forced me to take one I told them I likely couldn’t make! My lawyer is sending them a letter! Outrageous!

I had a Total Knee replacement on 11/03/2018 at Wyoming County Community Hospital by Dr. Mason. I would like to say that I have had a positive experience before surgery, during my hospitalization and 3 weeks now recovering. My questions and concerns were always addressed. He has brought his practice to a small hospital and I am glad that I did not have to travel to Buffalo or Rochester. My wife is an RN and she is very impressed with the care I received. from Dr. Mason. Highly Recommended!!

I have been seeing this office since April 2018. Finally in Sept. it was decided that surgery be done, (after Dr. Mason asked what I thought -isn't he the doctor?). Saw Dr. Mason on only two occasions - to discuss the surgery and the day of surgery. All other appts. have been with the PA. Didn't meet with Dr. Mason in the appt. after surgery, it was his PA. Feel like a factory part, very impersonal.

Dr. Mason was at first very helpful. After going through all of the pre-op appts, my surgery was rescheduled due to what was termed operating room conflict, only to hear from the doctor himself that it was due to his prior teaching engagements. After expressing my displeasure, the doctor decided he did not want to do my surgery. This left me having to scramble to find another surgeon. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Mason is pretty upfront and knowledgeable. He didn't give me any false hopes. He told me what to expect and what he found and did. A week after surgery and I'm 200% better than I've felt/been in over two years.

I've been a patient of Dr. Mason for nearly eight years. I've found Dr. Mason to be a practical, conscientious and concerned participant in my health, health care and injury management. Recently Dr. Mason performed a successful surgical repair of my shoulder. Throughout Dr. Mason and his staff demonstrated incredibly involvement in keeping me informed and educated on the procedure, the expectations of my physical recovery and were genuinely excited in my ultimate progress. A big thumbs up!
