I first saw Newton in his office to schedule an upper GI was told he was going to fill a prescription I had to call the office back the next day to find out where it was I was told they would check with the doctor It took until the next week to be filled I then went in for the upper GI and was told the doctor would be out to see me after the procedure When I woke up I waited for an hour and a half and still no doctor The nurse felt bad and reviewed the procedure report and told me I had an esophagus biopsy and another in my stomach which concerned me but still had no doctor to fill me inI called his office when I got home and was told they would have the doctor call me That was two days ago and I still have what I feel are important questions to ask this guy As far as I?m concerned after get my questions answered I?ll find another doctor I definitely don?t recommend Dr Newton unless you don?t need to know what?s going on with your health

Whole Procedure was Terrible
Husband was having esophogial endoscopy. I kept watching the patient information board to see everyone but my husband in surgery. A while later a Starbucks delivery guy came in with a bag of food & the delivery was for Dr. Muthunayagam!!!!! After a few hours a nurse came out & said I could come and see my husband. Thinking something had gone wrong since almost all the people with me in the waiting room were gone & a whole new group were there. Husband said he was put under then they woke him up & now were sedating him again for procedure. When the procedure was over Dr. quickly explained it is cancer & was malignant.

Dr. Newton diagnosed my dad with an bleeding ulcer which caused an infection. When going into his scope my dad asked Dr. Newton, do I have cancer? Dr. Newton said "no sir you have a terrible infection, if it was a tumor your numbers would grow slowly and your numbers tripled in 72 hours, all your bloodwork points to an infection." The day after his scope Dr. Newton came in my dads room and said "good news your numbers are all improving which means your infection is clearing up." After 8 days of us believing it was an infection they were going to rescope my dad to put a drainage stent in his liver. Doctor Newton came out and said "we attempted to put a stent into the liver but we couldn't get past the tumor in his stomach." We asked what tumor and he said "I'm sorry but he has stage 4 stomach cancer which has spread to his liver." We said I thought you said it was an infection, you were so sure it was." His response was "I was hopeful"

He performed an ERCP on my mother and perforated her esophagus after admitting he met with resistance, but kept on pushing. She was in an induced coma for a week. He showed little or no concern saying that all cuts heal. She never completely recovered because at age 87, she was forced to lie in bed for two months on a feeding tube and her muscles atrophied. He robbed her of her life and me of my mother.

Dr. Newton completely misdiagnosed my intestinal cancer due to his inability to listen to the patient. He kept insisting that I had acid reflux even after losing almost 20 pounds in a month. His arrogance is a danger to patients.
