Dr. Mark Torke, MD

I recently had my first appointment with Doctor Torke. I have a PhD in neuroanatomy. I had been experiencing significant hip pain for at least a month, enough time for me to thoroughly consider all the anatomical aspects of this pain, and I was convinced, with my knowledge base, that I knew what my issue was. He patiently and politely listened to me, then poked me in the thigh in a totally different area, and elicited a mild scream from me. I so appreciate his knowledge base! He was right on! He gave me a Cortisone shot and I am much improved! Plus, my anxiety level has gone down profoundly, knowing that I did not have the issue I thought I had.. His analysis of the situation took him minutes! I will definitely return to him.

Dr. Torke was a HUGE disappointment. Initial visit involved an X-ray and a brief consultation with him. He informed me I had arthritis and immediately gave me a cortisone shot but told me the only other option was a knee replacement! This was my first major knee complaint and I found his response extreme. He paid no attention to my main concern of pain on the lateral and posterior part my knee, which I knew was not being caused my arthritis. I returned a few weeks later as the pain on the lateral and posterior side of my knee were no better. I explained in detail to the nurse why I was back; Dr. Torke then came in and immediately asked if I was ready for major surgery, once again ignoring my complaint of where my pain was and informed me that now that it was documented that I had arthritis, even if it was a tear of some sort insurance would most likely not cover repairing a tear. After an MRI it was discovered I have a meniscus tear and Baker’s Cyst! Disgusting treatment! Stay away!

Very attentive; explains things in detail; listens is understanding about lifestyle and limitations. Personable and witty. Highly recommended!!!

knee replacement over 3 years ago and never healed. Knee in constant pain. Poor follow up by Dr. Torke

Made fun of me. Not sympathetic or caring. Refused to review CT scan and MRI results said he already did but he never did. This was so strange and the worst experience I ever had with a doctor. I was not helped one bit for a fractured bone.

Knee surgery several years ago. Took X-rays of both knees before I even saw him and he told me I did not have a torn meniscus, but I will need total knee replacements on both knees someday. I asked, did you look at my MRI results that revealed a torn meniscus. He said,”Oh you brought an MRI? He removed 80% of my meniscus. Requested a report for my records and he wrote in huge letters across the report, OBESE. It was apparent that he had no respect for me from the beginning due to my weight.

Excellent care

Poor attitude. Abusive during exam. Little empathy for patient discomfort.

Tried to schedule a visit and wasn't able to get through to office by phone on multiple calls. Finally left a message on answering machine where they indicated someone would get back to me but they never did.

Dr. Torke and the entire staff were amazing to deal with, kind, courteous, understanding, knowledgeable, and to the point. After being misdiagnose at my doctors office and suffering pain for three weeks, I finally made an appointment with Dr. Torke right away took X-rays and diagnosed my broken foot which I had been walking on for three weeks. He was right on with the length of time to heal and the length of time to heal the sprained ankle. I would highly recommend him to all.

I had a total knee replacement 4 weeks aago and I am very happy with my results. I have better function in my knee than I have had in years.

My husband got a total knee replacement done of February 14 of last year . Since September he has been in agony with blood and swelling on his knee . Dr Torgue notorious for his bad bed side manner . Has been rude and dis credits any questions asked of him . He has repeatedly tried to make me ( patients wife ) Feel stupid for asking him questions as to why my husband has now dealt with excruciating pain for about 6 months now . His office just dismissed him after I left a bad review Run

I have had 5 different joints successfully repaired surgically by Dr Torke over the years including sports injuries.

Hmm, not a Doctor I would want operating on my body. Came across as being arrogant with poor bedside manner. I do not want to hear from a surgeon "I don't know or it doesn't matter now" cause it does matter to me. If you can't answer the hard questions before you operate, I don't need you putting a scalpel to my body. Honestly, you just don't seem in to it.

Dr. Torke is so caring and compassionate for his patients! A doctor that really cares and will do whatever he can to accommodate. Very pleasant office and staff.

Dr Torke did my right knee replacement ant I am so thankful for his expertise. I can now walk pain free , and the surgery has helped me be able to walk again!

From start to finish, Dr Torke treated me with the utmost professionalism. His office is very efficient with wonderful staff as well. My surgery was handled by his well trained skills and follow up was perfect. His uplifting personality helped allay any fears I had and relaxed my tension. I would highly recommend him. One day prior to my surgery, my daughter in law broke her hand and was treated by him with the same level of concern and care. All doctors should follow his exemplary example
