Terrible experience
This doctor performed my ACL and MCL reconstruction and I am really upset that I didn’t choose someone else, I’m now having to get a full knee replacement at 33 years old due to this doctor.

Went in for shoulder surgery on my left shoulder. All thru therapy they did not feel I had full range of motion took X-ray Dr Johnson said everything looks good. Never was able to raise arm above shoulder without pain, could no longer coach kids in basketball, baseball, softball because could not throw balls or shoot basketballs, had done this for 40 years. Went for 2nd opinion Dr X-ray shoulder showed me that the socket is high and so much bone had been removed it could no be fixed.

His beside manner is awful. Told me that pain is subjective and I shouldn't be having it anymore. All he did was touch my knee which causes no pain since it hurts in a location that cannot be touched, under my kneecap, and mostly hurts with repetative use. I spend 13 hours a day at least 3 days a week on my feet working at a hospital which he acts like is nothing. I have chronic back pain that I take no meds for and never complain about so maybe take the word of your pt every now and then. He basically said that his athletes are better by this point and I should be as well. He is an arrogant, condescending person and I would not recommend him to anyone.

The office was clean, the nursing staff were very friendly. Everyone I came in contact with were very professional. The wait was not long. I wasn't in the room long enough to flip through a magazine before the doctor came in and showed me what was wrong. He went over a plan to help me and sent me on my way. He was nice and broke it down to my level of understanding. He explained what meds might help, but did not push meds on me. He did mention my weight was making the problem worse, but in the nicest way possible. I did not feel dismissed or judged at all. I will definitely be seeing him again.

Dr. Johnson is extremely knowledgeable, caring and professional. His manner is friendly and he is always ready to listen. In this day of medical offices that have grown so large that they forget why they exist, Dr. Johnson and the entire OrthoCarolina staff are always pleasant and willing to help while making their patients feel appreciated and important.
