Dr Krenzel was very nice, he talked with me about my issues, I never felt rushed. Surgery has been scheduled. He was very good to explain everything.

I’d been followed at another practice for nine years, seeing a PA that I liked, receiving steroid shots every three months until my hip got to be bone on bone and they told me I’d have to be off the steroids for three months before I could schedule a surgery date. After the three month wait, I called to schedule and found I’d have three more months to wait so I decided to switch practices. I saw Dr Krenzel on my first visit. He totally explained the procedure, told me he’d done 4000 hip replacements, went over my concerns, then handed me over to his care team that includes a PA, a PT, and a scheduler. I’d told the other practice I’d take a cancellation and could come at any time. They said that would be impossible. I told Dr Krenzl’s scheduler the same thing and while I was standing at her desk, she said, “Wait! A cancellation just came in. How about January 2?” This group is a great practice and I’m confident that Dr Krenzel will get me back to walking with ease.

Very informative

I saw Dr. Krenzel, because another MD told me I needed a knee replacement. He took time to read my history, review my MRI, and listen to me describe my symptoms. He told me I did not need a knee replacement and told me PT would help with the pain. I would highly recommend him, because he looks right at you as he explains your care face to face. I appreciated his personal approach.

Dr. Krenzel was friendly and very thorough when he examined my knees and took the time to explain my options for treatment. He has since performed surgery on both my knees with amazing results. He is truly an amazing surgeon

The staff was wonderful. I Was scheduled with Dr. Krenzel. After an hour and a half wait, his PA comes in the room, orders an x-ray and 'talks at me' for about 10 minutes. He started discussing injecting my hip, before ever letting me finish a sentence. I cancelled said injection today. I cannot get a good feeling about it and am afraid it was a rush to judgement and procedure. Also just sat on hold for a member of office staff for 12 minutes and put in a que to be called back!!!

The registration was a snap, the wait time was unbelievably brief, and Dr. Krenzel and the staff were all prompt and personable. Dr. Krenzel talked pretty fast, but he explained things clearly. I never felt rushed with my questions and am ready to let him fix me up!

I am two weeks post-op my second knee replacement, twenty weeks post-op the first. I could not be more pleased with my outcomes. Dr. Krenzel has been open and encouraging, throughout the process. As a patient, I see the PA and nursing staff more frequently, but have never felt Dr. Krenzel was the "man behind the curtain", unaccessable. I have always felt like an individual, throughout the process, not as one of many, on a conveyer belt. When I have had questions, they were answered at my level, easily understood. I have been asked who my surgeon is, and have gladly recommended Dr. Krenzel.

3/20/2023 I had a 3:20pm appointment, I arrived at 2:59PM to get checked in. I was told my appointment was canceled because computers had been down since around 2:00PM but the computers were online when I arrived. They could have still seen me but I was turned away. I was a new patient seeking a second opinion to have both knees replaced per my first diagnosis. I asked why they did not call me about the cancellation before I lost time from work to make this appointment, I got no response from the attendant. The doctor never saw me. They had my cell phone number and could have reached out to me. I don't live in Hickory and had to drive from another city to make the appointment. I am in a great amount of pain and today I have decided to not use Ortho Carolina to relieve my pain because I felt I was just a number to them and not a patient needing pain relief. The Doctor may be a great surgeon, I will never know because of how I was treated yesterday. Kind regards,

Dr. Krenzel was kind, knowledgeable and very professional. He explained my issues to me and what needed to be done. I am very appreciative of his personal approach and the recommendations that he gave me. I will recommend him to all my family and friends.

Dr. Krenzel provided me a second opinion for what was an already scheduled full hip replacement by another local area surgeon. He viewed the provided MRI and confirmed stage one AVN of the right hip. Next we had a lengthy conversation in which he requested that from the beginning I explain in detail the when what and where my pain began. Brian’s willingness to listen to my chain of events over the course of six weeks causing my now non weight bearing pain (hip flexor) and how to address it. I quote “AVN may get you a new hip someday, but not today”! He scheduled my physical therapy there at OC to begin 7 days later on February 24th (4 days prior to the would be surgery) and in three weeks I returned to work and feel amazing! *December 3rd to February 17th in pain on crutches and out of work pending a full hip replacement surgery. Thank you Brian for listening and taking the time to understand the cause and treating it and not performing unnecessary surgery on the symptom!

Dr. Krenzel not only did a terrific job with the knee surgery but also provided the needed “tough” message about the need to do PT

He has always given me the time needed to answer questions and listens to me concerns as well.

Great fantastic surgeon with good bed side manner explains things easily understood and most of all no more knee pain thanks doc! Heather Teague was also a great therapist can’t find the words to express my gratitude to the whole team.

He took excellent care of my daughter’s foot injury and really expedited her diagnosis and treatment. Would highly recommend him!!!

I had a total knee replacement in April and Dr. Brian Krenzel was wonderful. He explained everything throughly and was very encouraging. The surgery went well and my knee has healed great. I also highly recommend the physical therapy staff at OrthoCarolina . Heather Teague and Kevin VanVoorhis helped me tremendously with my physical therapy. Heather has a very pleasing personality and worked closely with me to reach my goals. I definitely recommend OrthoCarolina and Dr. Krenzel.
