Biography: A proud army brat, Dr. Joye calls Columbia, South Carolina home, although she's lived and traveled throughout the United States. The experience of growing up in a military family helped lay the foundation for her discipline, adaptiveness, and appreciation of all aspects of diversity. Dr. Joye began her path to medicine by attending Spelman College in Atlanta, GA where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to receive her Medical Doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina. At MUSC, she was elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Joye completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas at Houston. While in residency she was the recipient of various accolades, including Outstanding Resident in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Gynecologic Oncology and the MD Anderson Gynecologic Oncology Resident of the Year Award. She was also elected to be an Administrative Chief Resident. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Joye was honored to receive the Outstanding Chief Resident Award. Dr. Joye's favorite thing about being an obstetrician and gynecologist is being able to establish lifelong relationships with her patients. She is an impassioned women's health advocate and strives for her patients to feel heard, be respected, and to always be well cared for. Dr. Joye brings a compassionate, direct, and engaging bedside manner to all of her patients. She enjoys practicing the full breadth of obstetrics and gynecology and has a special interest in obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, preventative care, menstrual disorders, and contraception counseling. Dr. Joye joined Complete Women's Care Center in 2020 and practices at the Pearland location. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She enjoys trying out new restaurants, yoga, and listening to music. She graduated from The University of Virginia with a double major in biology and German language. Dr. Stafflinger spent time in research before enrolling in Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Medicine. Following medical school, she moved to Texas to complete her training in obstetrics and gynecology at Houston Methodist Hospital.
