Luis Rodriguez, M.D., is a primary care sports medicine physician with Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 18 physicians in multiple specialties integrated within Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems, with a special interest in concussions in sports, fracture care, musculoskeletal ultrasound and sports cardiology. He joined Sports Medicine Associates of South Florida after completing his Hand, Wrist and Microvascular Surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California. At USC, he worked under an expert team of physicians and surgeons directly responsible for the care and treatment of the USC Trojans athletic teams. Dr. Shenassa grew up in Long Island, New York and attended New York University for his undergraduate studies. After NYU, Dr, Shenassa studied medicine in Haifa, Israel at the Technion Institute of Technology Faculty of Medicine. He returned to New York to complete his surgical residency training at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, an affiliate of the NYU/ Albert Einstein Schools of Medicine. Dr. Shenassa is also the Chairman of the Board at HCA Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac, FL.
