After achieving the highest honors at the University of South Florida studying Natural sciences, Dr. Orlick completed his medical studies at the Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Following an internship in internal medicine at the University of Miami, he completed his Ophthalmology training at Tulane University in New Orleans. His interest in diseases of the retina led him to accept fellowship training under Dr. David Meyers at the Vitreoretinal Foundation, Memphis, Tennessee. After a number of years away from home, Dr Orlick returned to St. Petersburg to begin his career as a vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon. His private practice obligations have been balanced by one of his main clinical interests: teaching. For the past twenty years, he has continued volunteering his time in the eye clinic of James A. Haley VA hospital, supervising in the care of veterans while teaching ophthalmology residents. Dr Orlick has vast experience in treating a variety of retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular pucker and holes, retinal vein occlusions, and uveitis.
