Care Philosophy: The primary mission of our medical practice is to provide service to the people of our community. That is our top priority. Everything we do is aimed at that primary objective. The other mission of our practice is to provide high quality care in the field of Gastroenterology. As part of that goal, we have an Ambulatory Surgery Center next to our medical office with state-of-the-art equipment. This center is Medicare Certified and provides an opportunity for patients to have their procedure(s) done outside a hospital setting at substantially lower costs while maintaining the highest quality. Biography: Dr. Collins was raised in Southwest Florida, obtained his Bachelor Degree at the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) and his Medical Degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine (St. Louis, MO).Following graduation from medical school he moved to Gainesville and completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida, followed by a year as Chief Resident at the Malcolm Randall VAMC. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Florida in 2005 and then joined the faculty of the Gastroenterology Division, focusing on endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic ablation of Barrett's esophagus, and capsule endoscopy, in addition to general Gastroenterology. For the last four years, he has served as Section Chief for Gastroenterology at the Malcolm Randall VAMC and Clinical Assistant Professor at UF Health. Dr. Collins joined Digestive Disease Associates in September 2014.
