We set up telemed visits for our patients, we have office visits and procedures in office, we have a PA that work along with me to assist with patients so there is not a long wait list to get an appointment. My staff is highly qualified to answer any questions the patient may have and they are all bilingual.

We are here to help and to cure, avoiding harm to the patient at any cost. We strive to take care of the patient's physical illness, but we also thrive to address any emotional or social aspects coming with his illness. As surgeons, we inflict pain by our measures. We aim to manage the pain to the patient's satisfaction with the help of our colleagues, nurses and assistant medical personnel. Failure to do so will delay patient recovery and satisfaction. Biography: Dr. Laurel Sofer, MD is originally from Westchester, New York. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She received her BA in Biology and Mathematics, graduating Cum Laude and was selected for Phi Beta Kappa Society. She received her medical degree at Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. She completed her Surgery and Urology training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, IL. She is a member of the American Urological Society and the International Continence Society. Dr. Sofer's clinical interests include the surgical and medical management of male and female urologic disorders, including benign prostatic hyperplasia, sexual dysfunction, incontinence, kidney stones, and voiding dysfunction. She is well trained across all da Vinci robotic platforms (including the newest Single Port system) for the treatment of prostate and kidney cancer, and reconstruction of the urinary tract. She is proficient in all aspects of the minimally invasive treatment of benign urological problems, including laser enucleation of the prostate. Dr. Sofer is a loving mother of two young daughters. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is bilingual in Hebrew and English. She is excited to be joining the Z Urology family and looks forward to bringing her compassionate, high-quality care to the South Florida community.

Care Philosophy: Ernest Tong, MD, is a urologist with special training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. He is passionate about addressing a wide range of sensitive issues that affect patients&rsquo lives and making an impact on their overall well-being. He takes a compassionate approach while also integrating leading-edge technology, such as robotic surgery, to improve patient outcomes. Dr Tong earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology at the University of Texas in Austin before attending medical school at the University of Texas in Galveston. He went on to complete a residency in urology at LSU Health Shreveport and a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic/robotics at Hackensack University Medical Center.
