Biography: Mazvita Simoyi, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon. Born in Zimbabwe, she received advanced education in the United States from the age of 17. Following in the footsteps of her father, a general practitioner, she aspired to be a doctor from early childhood. After observing her father perform surgical operations her interest in surgery was sparked.She first earned a nursing degree, with high honors, at Howard University in Washington, D.C, then worked for several years as a hospital nurse while preparing for medical school. She assumed additional healthcare roles during her first two years of medical school at the University of Virginia, by working as a medical-surgical and hospice nurse.She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts. Following this, she successfully completed a minimally invasive colorectal surgery fellowship in Orlando.

Care Philosophy: Jared Funston, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon. After graduating from the University of New Mexico, Dr. Funston received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Funston believes that medicine is not one-size-fits-all, and that the unique background and perspective of every patient must be incorporated into treatment planning for the best-possible outcomes.

Care Philosophy: Sudhir Kalaskar, MD is a general surgeon with advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive and robotic colorectal surgery. Dr. Kalaskar was inspired to specialize in colon and rectal surgery by the pioneers he has trained with. He developed a special interest in minimally invasive surgery as it provides the best outcomes to the patient with shorter hospital stay and less post-operative pain.
