Biography: Aman Banerjee, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with Surgical Associates of Richmond. Dr. Aman Banerjee was born in India, and he grew up in Stamford, Connecticut. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Richmond in 2005 and his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2009. He resides in Chesterfield County with his wife and two daughters. Dr. Banerjee is board certified in general surgery. He completed his surgical residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2016. There he received the Dudley P. Allen and Richard B. Fratianne scholarships for research. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He performs all aspects of general surgery. He has special interests in advanced wound care, laparoscopic robot-assisted minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, hernia surgery, colon, and rectal surgery. Dr. Banerjee is now accepting patients at our Midlothian office near Johnston-Willis Hospital. He will be performing surgeries at both Johnston-Willis and Chippenham Hospitals.

Biography: Dominique Dempah, MD, is a general surgeon in Salem, Virginia, specializing in the minimally-invasive treatment of benign and malignant gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Dempah received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, and completed his surgical residency at Saint John Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. He did a surgical fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he trained in advanced gastrointestinal surgery including advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy, and hepatobiliary surgery. Most recently, Dr. Dempah gained advanced training at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France. Prior to coming to Virginia, Dr. Dempah practiced as a general surgeon in Hazard, Kentucky. Dr. Dempah is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has special interests in foregut surgery, pancreatic disease, and minimally-invasive, endoscopic, and robotic surgeries. He is fluent in French and in 1999 was the Ivory Coast Judo Junior National Champion. In his spare time, Dr. Dempah enjoys soccer, outdoor activities, and world cuisine.
