Dr. Anthony Chen, DO

I received a referral to Dr. Chen for an umbilical hernia I am experiencing. Dr. Chen was engaging and information, taking the time to learn about my medical status and conditions. He carefully and thoroughly examined the hernia conducted a thorough examination while be careful to not cause too much discomfort or pain. Afterwards he took the time to clearly explain his diagnosis and recommended course of action, including benefits and risks. He patiently listened to my question and concerns and provided answers that were understandable. In the end, he provided me with the information I needed to make an informed decision on the course of action I wish to take.While this was my initial visit to Dr. Chen, they say the first impression is the lasting impression. Based on my initial observation, I left the appointment with a feeling of full confidence in Dr. Chen's skills and abilities to effectively treat me.

I've had him perform two surgeries in the past, and soon a third. Everything has always been smooth sailing with him and his staff. It's clean, quiet, and not a long wait to be seen. He's competent and beyond caring. If I could give him ten stars, I would.

Everything about my visit was exceptional. Booking was easy. The front staff was friendly and very helpful. The office was clean and I did not have to wait. The doctor was outstanding. I have been suffering with pelvic pain for quite some time. I've been to several doctors, none of whom seemed to care about me or my condition. The last doctor told me to go home and sleep it off or take pain meds, while the pain continued to worsen. Dr. Chen was a breath of fresh air. He listened to my concerns, reviewed my records and provided me with a very helpful analysis of my condition. He also quickly develop a treatment plan, which I could begin without delay. When I needed to follow up to schedule surgery, the front staff was extremely helpful. I feel like I have finally found a competent doctor in the northern VA area who is knowledgeable, has an excellent bedside manner, and actually cares. I am so glad I found Dr. Chen and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a high quality of care.

Dr. Chen patiently spent time on my first visit explaining my options to me. I chose to go through with the surgery and the procedure went flawlessly. He is a kind and excellent surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Surgically speaking, cholecystectomy is relatively mundane, but Dr Chen was thorough and detailed and humbly consulted others when he had questions about my particular case. The hospital staff from the ER doc, nurses, and administrative staff all spoke highly of him as well. I could not have asked for better care.
