His clinical research is aimed at determining outcomes of surgical interventions for spinal disease, especially microsurgery. He has published over 200 papers and book chapters on these subjects; has won multiple research and teaching awards; and has served society and editorial roles nationally and internationally. His clinical practice is dedicated to the treatment of the broad spectrum of spinal disorders involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He is a leader in minimally invasive spinal microsurgery. In 2023, Dr. Weiner joined HCA Houston Healthcare, serves as Medical Director of Spine Surgery, and founded the Center for Advanced Spine and Orthopaedic Surgery.
