Dr. Vardiman later completed a one-year general surgery internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, followed by a five-year Neurological Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.Dr. Vardiman is a highly esteemed leader in his field, ranking third in the nation for Deep Brain Stimulation (1994-2014), a procedure that has revolutionized treatment for patients experiencing the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Dr. Vardiman furthermore specializes in complex spine procedures and cerebrovascular disease. He continues to shape the field of neuroscience as a Medical Director at the Texas Neuroscience Institute, and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center, located in San Antonio.
