Dr. Ai Mukai, MD

Dr Mukai has been my orthopedic specialist for 10 years. She is an excellent, knowledgeable, energetic and very caring physician. She seems to have an endless awareness of local professionals she can refer you to that can complement her Treatment Plan. I feel very fortunate that I found Dr Mukai back in 2015 after a serious car accident. I’m glad she is much younger than me so that she will be around for a long time. She’s the best!

Terrible bedside manner, literally laughed at questions about pain and recovery. Misdiagnosed what was clearly a disc issue for facet joints and pressured me into treatment that didn't work. I'm not sure if it was just negligence and laziness or some cynical ploy to get more insurance money.

I waited three months for my appointment. Two business days before the appt, I was called and told that the appt was cancelled, and that Mukai wouldn't see me -- I should go back to my last doctor. What kind of a doctor is that?

Dr Mukai, listened carefully about my health status and provided me with great information. She performed a very careful study of my leg nerves.

She is reassuring and explains things beforehand and while she’s doing things, so that I feel safe.

My appointment was cancelled by them. Took two weeks to get an appointment from scheduling. Then the afternoon before the appointment they cancel it. This was after given a run around about getting a doctor by Texas orthopedics. The people that answer the phone also don’t listen to what you tell them.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Ai Mukai and her team. I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis which left me in constant pain in my lower back that radiated down to my lower legs. Before her injection I had been unable to turn over at night without sitting up, walking was also difficult. She was very thorough in making sure that the procedure was effective due to a previous surgery I had 30 + years ago to remove a ruptured disk.
