Biography: Joe Pack, DO, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with LewisGale Physicians in Low Moor, Virginia. Dr. Pack earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic residency through Michigan State University at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan. He also graduated with honors from Bridgewater College, with a Bachelor of Science in biology. Dr. Pack is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Pack is a general orthopedic surgeon with special interest in primary total knee arthroplasty as well as shoulder and knee arthroscopy. He is highly skilled in reparative surgeries of the hands and wrists, knees and lower limbs, shoulders, and upper arms including fracture care.When not seeing patients, Dr. Pack enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and golfing.

Biography: Dr. Brett Whitfield is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and joint replacements. He chose orthopedics since the treatments in orthopedics allow him to keep patients participating in the physical activities and sports activities they want to do no matter their age. Keep Patients Moving! in his free time, he enjoys cycling, hiking, weight training, snowboarding, and travel.

Biography: Preston Waldrop, MD, FAAOS, a board-certified and fellowship trained surgeon with LewisGale Physicians in Salem, Virginia has provided care to residents in the Roanoke Valley for more than 32 years. He grew up in Salem and returned with his family in 1991 to practice orthopedics. Dr. Waldrop's medical training began at the University of Virginia, followed by orthopedic training at Emory University in Atlanta. To further his knowledge in orthopedics, Dr. Waldrop participated in a fellowship in shoulder/sports medicine at the University of Miami. Dr. Waldrop also maintains the honor of being a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Waldrop chose to focus his practice on orthopedics because it gives him the ability to treat patients of all ages and life stages. In addition, orthopedics allows him to treat a specific problem and usually make a significant improvement in a patient's life which is very gratifying. Dr. Waldrop's major interests in orthopedics include treatment of the shoulder, knee, and hip with surgeries varying from arthroscopy to joint replacement. Dr. Waldrop has been a perennial fixture on The Roanoker magazine "Top Docs" list for more than a decade. He is consistently voted as one of the area's top orthopedic surgeons and general orthopedists by a survey of his peers and nursing staff, receiving awards in 2006, 2008, and every year from 2011 onward. Dr. Bayliss graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He completed his internal medicine residency at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, and his rheumatology fellowship at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.Dr. Bayliss is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology. He is an active fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.

Jones, DO is an orthopedic hand, elbow, and shoulder surgeon in Salem, Virginia.Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He continued his education with a Michigan State-sponsored residency at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan in orthopedic surgery, where he served as co-Chief Resident in his program, earning honors in research before graduating. His residency training consisted of total joints, trauma, spine, sports medicine, peds, foot and ankle, and hand/shoulder/elbow.Dr. Jones completed the prestigious one-year Kleinert Kutz Adult Hand Fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky. He completed his second fellowship in pediatric hand/upper extremity at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Prior to joining LewisGale Physicians, he has experience in Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers, and as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, in addition to congenital hand anomalies, and pediatric upper extremity and trauma.Dr. Jones volunteers his time teaching orthopedics at VCOM, a medical school in Blacksburg, and also is associated with organizations such as Camp No Limits, a foundation for children and families with traumatic and congenital limb differences, as well as the Helping Hands Foundation, which assists families and children living with congenital upper extremity anomalies. He also has a passion and calling for International Medical Outreaches, with whom he has travelled to China, Guatemala, and Honduras.Dr. Jones is board-eligible.
