No Return Call
Been a patient for many years and have always been very happy with Dr Mitchell until recently. His staff is a different story. Went to ER with abdominal pain and was diagnosed with 10 mm kidney stone that would need to be removed surgically. Called Dr Mitchell’s office and couldn’t get appt for almost 2 months. Left 2 messages with his nurse and sent 2 messages on their Healow app asking to see him sooner. Never received a return call or message. I do believe if Dr Mitchell knew his staff were treating his patients like this that he’d be very unhappy. I also know he is getting ready to retire, so maybe he doesn’t care. Luckily, I was able to get an appt with the same urologist who was on call when I went to ER. Kidney stone now removed, and I have a new urologist who also has a wonderful staff.

Would Give Zero Stars If Possible - AVOID
My husband was seen by this doctor who ordered an MRI to test for prostate cancer. At the time of the test the imaging center said it would take 24 - 48 hrs for the doctor to receive the results. We have called the doctor's office regularly for three weeks to try to get his cancer test results. We have been given excuses such as their office being short staffed with 600 faxes unread as well as the doctor's planned trip out of town for dates unknown by his staff. Finally, when we called the doctor's office to request the records forwarded to another specialist we were informed it would require an in-person signature of release (a 20 mile trip) plus a FEE of $45.00 for this service. However, upon contacting the imaging center directly, they immediately forwarded the test results to our primary care doctor and made a CD of the images in a matter of minutes at NO CHARGE. AVOID THIS SCAM.

Stay away - terrible prep and post surgery
Had an emergency surgery for appendicitis and a small kidney stone. Was told I might need a stent if unable to remove. Got the surgery and got a stent, but was told by the nurse everything was removed. Asked to speak to Mitchell over 3 days, refused to come see me and never came for discharge from the hospital. Was told if I had a stent I would need to be seen within 2 days to remove. It is now impossible to make an appointment through his staff and cannot get anyone on the phone. Unprofessional, outdated, and no communication. While he may have okay bed side manner, I feel completely taken advantage of and like the added surgery was just to pad the bill…

Poor customer service from office staff
My wife had an emergency surgery. The hospital called in Dr Mitchell to perform the surgery. We had no choice on the surgeon. The hospital used the they had on call. She was moved to a rehab center for recovery. The rehab center called their office several times and left messages to set up a follow up visite. After my 3rd message someone finally called me back. She more or less called the hospital and I liars saying we never left a message. When I tried to set up an appointment for a follow up the office staff informed me that they did not take her insurance and they would not see her for a follow up nor would they release her. When I asked what we were supposed to do she answed, 'I guess you need to find another urologist'I have never talked to a medical office that was so rude and unhelpfully. When I tried to explain that the Dr needs to follow up on his procedure. She replied' that's not going to happen. On a good note we were very pleased with Dr Mitchell for the surgery a

I have been seeing Dr. Mitchell for many years and found him to be an excellent physician and recommend for the quality of his work. His office staff are the worst. You schedule your next appointment 6 months in the future and then it moves and moves and moves again up to 60 days later than originally scheduled. The staff then practice medicine by extending meds without regard to the person. They do not care if there is a purpose to see the physician or not but move you without any regard to your life and other appointments. Reality is the compassion and care Dr. Mitchell shows is in reverse of this team.
