Very nice
I have been seeing Dr. Chahal for the last 14 years. I like how he gives you options and doesnt stop until he figures out whats wrong. One thing I really appreciated was that he gave me a pill for my colonoscopy so I wouldnt have to drink that disgusting liquid. I refer him to my family and friends.

Dismissed.
I had been seeing Dr. Chahal for a short period of time. The last time I saw him at his office. He abruptly dismissed my concerns and walked out . I have a serious history of GI problems including multiple surgeries on the small intestine.

Definitely Not
First appointment as a patient, he asked if I was mad at him. What? I was anxious to be treated for my digestive health issues quite opposite, I was looking forward to visit him for a second opinion. He them gave me samples to take with instructions written on a brown paper bag. These were all laxatives. I informed him I get diarrhea with laxatives. He insisted, that’s the only way to work with my constipation issues. I was diagnosed by my previous GI doctor for IBS and Leaky gut with constipation and diarrhea. I don’t believe he heard me. The initial visit lasted around 5 minutes. Two weeks later, I get seen for my follow up. He asked me what I was taking. I told him , I followed his instructions for 2 weeks and experienced diarrhea for 2 whole weeks. He then interrupted me and said we ought to evaluate our relationship as obviously we are not relating to each other well. I was floored! He said he goes through a lot of patients and he can tell if they have an attitude. I was in shock!

AVOID HIS PRACTICE
I scheduled a televisit and he did not arrive so I had to call his office to remind them of his appt, he answered with an attitude after showing up late to his own appt. He had ordered a suite of tests I had questions about and I told him I will get the tests done if you think they are necessary and he began to criticize me for saying "IF you think they are necessary" after I said multiple times I would get the tests done. I told him I had two more questions; what would be the next steps if he was unable to diagnose and what would be the treatment options. He became very aggravated and told me there were no follow up questions. I had to argue to simply ask my questions. At one point during the call I had to tell him, I let you talk and you finish so now its my turn to talk and finish, because he constantly interrupted me and dismissed my concerns. He was the most unprofessional medical person I have ever dealt with, it wouldve been more productive having an appt with a 6 year old child

Dr. Chahal is the worst doctor I have ever seen. He was rude, uninterested and overall, invalidating of incredibly sensitive issues regarding my health. He seemed inconvenienced by my symptoms and quickly became dismissive. My appointment lasted no longer than 5 minutes and I left his office feeling terrible. I would not recommend his services to anyone.

I've had very few gastrointestinal doctors but Doctor Chahal was the kindest one to me. I told him about my other experiences with other GI experts and I could tell he was truly concerned and he even said he didn't like the way the other GI doctors have treated me. I never trusted him enough to follow through with a colonoscopy procedure though. If I had to recommend any gastrointestinal doctor, this would be the one.

Horrible doctor, which I should have known when he spent my first appt telling me about all his problems at his previous office. He bounces around, which should tell you something. He crushed by uvula during a very routing process. When I complained about what he did and how excruciating it was he banned me from the office. He’s pathetic, and shouldn’t be practicing.

He is not a good communicator and seems to resent questions. Videoconferencing was painful as he gave short answers and was very obviously trying to hurry through the call as quickly as possible. He prescribed medicine for me based on incomplete information (my new GI guy was appalled), and became annoyed with me when I asked for alternatives. His staff however is lovely.

Zero stars! Regarding Dr. Premjit Chahal, MD and Diablo Digestive Care in Pleasant Hill, CA: Shut his office down! A 'nice guy', supposedly, who is an over billing creep, and uses a sub standard surgical center for his work. The center still used paper medical files, nothing electronic, (which is against the law!) and refused to provide voluminous paperwork to us prior to the day of the medical procedure. Spent untold hours over months dealing with insurance claim issues with this doctor. This doctor and his team billed $10,614 for a medical procedure that my insurance company said was billable in my area at $1848. For months he continued to send us bills after our insurance had paid him in full, which he was required to accept as payment in full. I finally had to send him a Cease and Desist Order to get him to stop his fraudulent billing to us. And his office REFUSED to release medical test results, in direct violation of HIPAA. Stay away from this doctor at all costs.

Dr. Chahal's office visit was exhorbitant for a 10 minute conversation with him, in which his first step was to insist on another endoscopy. He starts at the top of expensive tests in order to bilk insurance companies and patients. Would NEVER recommend seeing this doctor. Very disappointed that my primary referred me to him. Definitely changing primary care doctor after this fiasco.

I saw Dr. Chahal in 2009 and he prescribed a treatment to control my symptoms. In 2015, the symptoms returned and I saw 3 different GI's who attempted treatments, but were not successful. I requested an authorization to see Dr. Chahal even though he was out-of -network. Yes, he tried a couple of different treatments that did not work, but he did not give up and finally found an effective medication. He is caring and very well informed. The office staff is extremely efficient.

Dr. Chagall is one of the last of a dying breed, a doctor that truly cares about his patients. I don't know why anyone would have given him any less than 5 stars, except that he used to work for one of those offices where they had ten or so different GI docs and saw patients and treated them as numbers, but now he has gone out on his own and has his own practice, Diablo Digestive Care. He has helped me with so many issues, and changed my life. That is no exaggeration

Finally a breath of fresh air regarding gut health. Wants to run the proper diagnostic tests, understand exactly what is going on and then balance out gut flora. My kind of doctor. Didn't just give me meds.
