Definitely Recommend Dr. Apostolides
I highly recommend Dr Apostolides. He took the time to explain my diagnosis and what needed to be done when it came to surgery, as well as what options I had in the interim to help with my sporadic pain. He patiently listened to all my concerns and comprehensively responded to them.

Outstanding care and results
Dr Apostolides examined my case carefully, listened to me and explained all aspects of my lumbar fusion procedure to me. He took my case after other surgeons wouldn’t. I am so happy with the results! He is the BEST.

Repeat Performance
Paul did my back, L5-S1 fusion, as the number two on the surgical team. When the next level started to fail, 25 years and 150,000or more miles of cycling and abuse later, and I needed to have the L4-L5 fused and much shoring up of osteoporosis further above. Fantastic results and now returning to my fitness and riding of 2 years ago. Traveled from my home in Chapel Hill to have him do it in Greenwich. Can say enough.

Top Notch!
I had my first surgery with Paul in 2007. After recovery , I deemed all highly successful . No pain, and everything looking good. He continued to monitor my condition over the years. I was told during my first surgery that I could expect deterioration of my spine and would most likely require additional surgery in about 10 Years. Fast forward to 2016. Pain returned, shots, 4 bouts of physical therapy and in 2019 a serious discussion about additional surgery. I had 12 fusions and 17 laminectomies. Difficult recovery. Pain, much pt again, but I am totally pain free. I move fairly well for an aging person . I thank God for Paul and tell everyone that he has been touched by God to help people. A marvelous doctor..

Perhaps he is a gifted surgeon, but felt dismissed
This doctor may be a gifted surgeon, but I felt he was very dismissive of my condition. I felt a general lack of compassion and more of a .”What are you doing in here? You’re not that bad”. Did not have many solutions to manage or fix pain - I had to press for them. Also had to press for laymen’s terns. Would not recommend if you were suffering from chronic but not dehabilitating back pain that cannot be fixed surgically. Overall felt a general lack of interest with rather brusque and hurried manner.

Disappointed patient – Jul 03, 2024

Does not know what he's doing
Super disappointed in ons and Dr. Apostolides. I went to him for sacral surgery. I make an appointment and tell the receptionist about my sacral mass. I make it to his office and he rudely says, 'I won't operate on a sacrum, I could wreck you'. I was shocked and annoyed. why waste my time and money? He billed my insurance $528 to insult me. Useless waste of time. Rude physician.

Most useless office visit and MRI I have had.
After my visit and MRI returning my call from the Dr. took 3 business days while he knew how much pain I was in. Also, I have never met a Dr that walks away from a patient asking questions during a visit or on a phone call. Two of his comments during my visit favored ONS over Greenwich Hospital going far enough to say Greenwich copied ONS MRI equip steering me to use ONS. Not usually something a patient cares about. They will charge you $25.00 to get a disc copy of your MRI if you need one for another Dr. I used ONS 10 years ago and they seemed very high on them selves. This trip to ONS I have the same feelings. Dr Apostolidis made it impossible to return to ONS.

I have had a couple of different operations performed by Dr. Paul Apostolides and I give him my highest recommendation. He took a broken disk out of my back several years ago, which alleviated an intense amount of pain. Prior to this surgery, I was experiencing extreme agony, but within two days after the surgery, I was walking with no pain and no complications. Several years after this operation, I had another higher-risk procedure done, in which Dr. Apostolides and Dr. Fiori, undertook a seven hour operation to implant rods and screws in my neck. The surgery was painless, my recovery was quicker than anticipated, and the outcome was life-changing. God bless Dr. Apostolides - I recommend him without any reservation.

Dr. Apostolides assisted my neurosurgeon, Dr. Amory Fiore, in a recent 5 level spinal fusion surgery. Surgery lasted 10 1/2 hours. Before surgery, Dr. A was kind enough to come in to wish me well. He has a lovely bedside manner & I knew from former spine surgeries he assisted Dr. F on, that the results would be superb, & they were. Having inherited two spine diseases from my father, I feel blessed to have found these gifted neurosurgeons and lovely human beings. 1000 stars are not enough.
