Dr. Simon diagnosed and performed a discectomy and over- the-top laminectomy on me. The procedure was a complete success. Throughout the diagnostic, surgical and recovery processes, he and his excellent team were always patient, informative and available.

Extraordinary doctor
Dr. Simon has been seeing me for my lower back and neck pain for over 14 years. In all that time I’ve had a few very successful minor surgeries. With referrals to physical therapy and physiatrists he has kept me pain free most of the time. Recently my pain has escalated; when my new test results are completed and he has analyzed them, I trust him to recommend the best next steps.

Initially good then went down hill
I initially felt comfortable with Dr. Simon. He has a very pleasant demeanor and was empathetic and thoughtful in his approach to my neck problems. Unfortunately my experience has worsened during follow-up after the surgery he performed on my neck. He recommended a posterior cervical foraminotomy for my herniated neck disks and was very reassuring that it would resolve my symptoms. A year after the procedure my neck pain improved, but despite PT the numbness and tingling in my right hand continues, and the weakness in my arm, back, shoulder, and chest muscles has worsened. Recently, I developed constant twitching in my tricep so I went for a follow-up. At the, I waited over 30 minutes past my appointment. When I finally saw Dr. Simon, he was his usual pleasant self, but was also rushed and dismissive. He downplayed my concerns and sent me away without addressing my symptoms. It seems I need to seek care from another surgeon to find out if anything else needs to be done

Outstanding
Dr. Simon explains his surgical approach prior to surgery, and listens to “your” concerns, if any. After a brief discussion, Dr. Simon takes the TIME to make certain you fully understand and agree with The Plan! I loved his Plan, and I am recovering beautifully! When it comes to your spine take your time and read reviews!!! There is no way you will be disappointed, he is a gentleman and a scholar!

Outstanding Surgeon
After researching surgeons for 5 months including those at HSS and NYU Langone, in January of 2023 I had an 8 hour spinal fusion surgery with Dr. Scott Simon with ONS. Prior to surgery Dr. Simon spent as much time as needed answering questions, sometimes up to an hour. Dr. Simon is an extremely knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, empathetic and skilled surgeon.Initially when I met Dr. Simon I was walking with a limp, using a cane, couldn’t stand for more than 5 minutes and was in pain constantly. Today I no longer have a limp, walk with a cane and I can stand for over an hour. Dr. Simon is an extremely skilled Neurosurgeon. His follow up care is outstanding. He visited me in the hospital on a Sunday. Now 11 months later his follow up care is still extraordinary.

ExcellentDoctor!
I saw Dr. Simon today (4/3/2023) for upper leg pain. My primary doctor told me that it could be nerve pinch from information that I gave her. I waited with pain for a week to see him (instead of another doctor) and it was worth it. I read the review that doctor Simon is an excellent doctor. Doctor Simon is really caring, compassionate and took time to understand and answer all my questions. Though my condition is a muscle tightening, and not a nerve condition, Dr. Simon still was kind and directed me to physical therapy as my symptoms are getting better everyday. Though the pain still there. He is absolutely the best doctor and I am lucky to find him.

JA from Stamford
My situation was an emergency and I went to the er because the pain was so bad. Dr. Simon met me there and I was transferred to Greenwich Hospital. After testing, it was learned that a previous back infection remained in pockets under the bones and ate the bone on my spine. It was a 12 hour surgery and two blood clots were found. 38 screws were placed evenly on each side of the bone and some of the equipment was removed. I was placed on intravenous antibiotics and an IVH filter was put in and that could have saved my life. After several weeks and getting to walk again, I was transferred to acute rehabilitation. Both surgeons were incredible.

Great doctor, kind man
I have had back problems for years. Dr Simon was the first doctor that took an MRI to see what was going on. He is very well respected in his industry and he is kind, explained everything to me, and conservative in his approach . I finally found the right doctor to give me back my life style.

Dr. Scott Simon has treated and operated on 4 members of my family. My wife's sister could not move. Dr. Simon did a 6 hour operation on her spine and now she plays tennis and golf and is pain free. His cutting edge knowledge, empathy and great personality put any patient at ease. My wife is a Physical therapist and says Dr. Simon is one of the most brilliant surgeons she has ever met. Thank You Dr. Simon for all you do for my family and so many others.

I can't say enough good things about Doctor Simon. I had numbness and tingling in my left arm during the early height of the pandemic in April 2020. Doctor Simon was able to help expedite my MRI. He was an exceptional communicator. He ultimately did emergency surgery on my neck and the results have been superb. Post-op he was very available, helpful and supportive. I highly recommend Doctor Simon.
