Dr. Omer Basar, MD

Dr. Omer Basar is an excellent doctor. I had a couple of procedures done with Dr. Basar, and all of them went incredibly well. He was professional, reassuring, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Everything was explained clearly, and the results exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend him!

Was respectful and understanding of my difficulties

I have been a patient of Dr. Basar and had my colonoscopy and endoscopy with him. Dr. Basar is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. Throughout the process, he was always available to answer my questions, give necessary information. The operation also went very smoothly. My experience with him have been very pleasant and successful.

He is a kind lovely man and is always compassionate

I have seen Dr. Basar on several occasions and undergone two operations, and I really can't find enough nice things to say about him. He is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me in a way that was easy to understand. Dr. Basar's kindness and warm demeanor made me feel comfortable and at ease throughout each visit and both operations. He truly cares about his patients, always wearing a smile and showing genuine concern for their well-being. I highly recommend Dr. Omer Basar to anyone needing a GI specialist.

Answered no questions throughly, broad findings with no explaining what they mean, DOES NOT LISTEN TO YOUR CONCERNS, and he rushes in and out of the room. I truly would not recommend him any less. He is very rude and generally doesn’t care about your concerns

Dr. Omer Basar who was doing the colonoscopy screening on 12 20 2024 after an abnormal cologuard test result. Dr. Omer stated in recovery to my family and I that he was unable to proceed with the colonoscopy because of my blood pressure being to low. He stated 80 over 60. but than I find out thru a letter Dr. Basar sent to my primary care physician that he wrote up that the colonoscopy was completed by him. Then writes to for me to have another colonoscopy done asap and was referred to Dr. Dumont of University hospital that finished what Dr. Basar was unable to do. He left me in a position that I now have to pay for two colonoscopies. rather than a screening for one colonoscopy recommended by Anthem Blue Cross in provider news 807-0322-pn-cnt. I highly recommend Dr. John A. Dumont, DO of University Hospitals

Front desk is rude. Speaks loudly but doesn’t listen. Basically had to YELL my private information to the the front desk clerk, so much for Discretion. RN that assists the Dr was great. Very kind and comforting, she even explained things while answering my questions ( before & after my appt). The Dr & the Surgeon were also very nice, thorough, and explanatory. They are more direct and blunt and speak to one another as appropriate for my care, but I was comfortable with that. I certainly want them on the same page; after all, I’m scheduled for their expertise in their respective fields, not for speed dating.

The worst!! While trying to explain my condition and problems, I was continually interrupted and talked over. Didn’t feel like I was heard or understood at all. He did absolutely nothing to help despite the fact that I have been having searing stomach pain for the last month. This is October, the procedure is scheduled for December. He and another Physician came into the room with me, and spoke about me like I wasn’t there. Very insulting
