He just decided not to respond
I saw Dr. Karellas who did a biopsy of my prostrate. Everything went fine but I had a post procedure problem. Since that time he has not responded to requests for appointments, nor has he given me feedback from an MRI that he ordered 3 months ago. I have sent emails to him, and called his office and no response. Either he has no interest as it is not going to be a lot of money for him, or his office is totally disorganized. So, I found another great provider in Stamford.

Worst office
Travelled 2 hours to get there, waited 2 months for an appointment, late 30 minutes for reasons beyond my control. Doctor wouldn’t see me, staff rude.

A Highly Skilled and Caring Urologist
I was under the care of Dr. Karellas for three years when he was affiliated with Stamford Hospital. He was always courteous, responsive, caring, and highly skilled in monitoring my relatively low risk cancer. Unfortunately, he decided to switch locations and I am no longer a patient. However, he is an excellent doctor and the two negative comments I read on this thread are perplexing to me, and not at all aligned with the very positive experience I had with him.

Doesn’t want to work with women
Hard to get past the nurse if you’re a woman. Once there he was dismissive, short and offered a diagnosis that made no sense. He did ask any questions, just read the chart. Waste of time.

Very unprofessional. No follow up. Another one who takes the money and runs when the patient has complications after surgery.
