Gave my son hope
After seeing 3 different orthopedic Drs in the area a friend recommended Dr G. Within minutes of seeing him for the first time, he looked at my son’s imaging and said with confidence “ I can fix this”. Guess what? He did. My son was a phenomenal lacrosse goalie at a very young age, but then was sidelined due to his debilitating back pain. 1 year after his surgery, my son tried out for the UnderArmour All American team and was selected. He went on to be recruited to a private ISL school and from there to be recruited by several Div 1 Colleges. I am happy to say today that my son is a Div 1 Athlete, College is paid for, and we owe all of this to Dr G and of course my sons hard work.

Dr. Glotzbecker is AMAZING. He recently did a complicated spinal fusion on my 12yr daughter. She has Ehlers Danlos, so surgery can be tricky with her, and it was. We are very appreciative of the communication between us and him as well as his NP, Nikki. (Nikki can make magic happen!) My daughter's stay at UH was almost a month and we knew his plan all the way through the process, even when we were thrown a big curve ball. My daughter now has had a great outcome so far after surgery, and in a few months will hopefully be back to cheerleading. Do NOT hesitate to get on this man's schedule.

I would not recommend Dr. Glotzbecker. My three year old daughter was referred to a pediatric orthopedic dr by her rheumatologist and her physical therapist. He had my three year old walk across the room and told me if she still has issues bring her back in 3 years. He did not examine her closely nor ask any detailed questions. I raised my concerns to him and he dismissed them and told me that physical therapists are just picky. The appointment was less than 5 minutes. I tried explaining to him her medical history and he just dismissed them.

Find a different physician if your child has spinal issues. I feel that Dr. Glotzbecker was negligent in failing to follow BCH's protocol with my son's condition. The gross error was immediately detected by the specialist we chose to replace Dr. Glotzbecker and addressed. His failure to address clearly visible issue negatively impacted my son's treatment.

Dr G prescribed my 6 year old daughter a brace after she was diagnosed with scoliosis. He ordered an MRI which revealed some neurological issues that may cause the scoliosis. We never received follow up from Dr G, never an orthopedic perspective on this turn of events and he had his Assistant call us twice to speak to us instead of himself. We switched ortho MDs.

Our experience with Dr. Glotzbecker was phenomenal. Great personality, down-to-earth, practical. Heard our concerns and answered all our questions but didn’t sugarcoat the advice. Explained his recommendations so we understood the various approaches and why the one he was suggesting for our child offered the best chance of achieving the goal. Also didn’t talk down to her, but involved her in the conversation and the action plan on every visit.

The doctor was dismissive and honestly a bit rude. When I told him that I was reluctant to accept his diagnosis, he said, "well, call it what you want, but all you have is rib pain. Just use heat and ibuprofen." I left the appointment feeling defeated and frustrated.
