Dr. Margaret Pearle, MD

They don't have a waitlist for appointments so you will have to call every day to find out cancellations. Dr. Pearle is calm, precise, and tells you details about surgery and complications in advance. Her staff never called to schedule surgery with me. It is hard to get in touch with anyone with the calls getting forwarded to an operator even during office hours. No one calls back even after leaving messages for weeks at the office giving more than enough time for them to respond. How can anyone trust this place for surgeries with such lack of response. People need to give review on experience with staff as well as the doctor so that others know what to expect. I would not recommend going here even though the doctor is an expert on kidney stones.

Dr. Pearle is well spoken, thoughtful, and has a calm demeanor. Ultimately, while those things are helpful, the biggest determinant of what makes a successful doctor is outcomes. The outcome in my situation was poor. Evaluating an outcome off of a sample size of one obviously comes with complications, but there is a reasonably high probabililty the outcome was influenced directly by her. What cements this rating for me is that after being hospitalized post surgery with complications, she had no awareness of the follow up meeting what was left to be done and what was done already. This is more a symptom of the infrastructure surrounding her, but my experience left me scarred and I could not in good conscience recommend her to any of my friends based on the overall experience.

Pros: Interacting w/Dr. Pearle, her demeanor, professional behavior, knowledge, & communication - outstanding Cons - I felt that she ruined every pro listed in my case. My job is incumbent on health. In the initial visit she said she understood that surgery would be essential, timely, & that I would be"taken care of in a couple weeks". Great, I thought 1. It was about 14 weeks between my initial visit & when I could to return to work. I told Dr. Pearle I had another family crisis causing financial drain so she seemed concerned about helping 2. Staff would never follow up after I left her office to schedule surgery. Making repeated calls over the ensuing weeks. I was not being a nuisance. Far from it, rarely calling more than once a day & less for the most part 3. I almost lost health insurance after 12 weeks, had it not been for the compassion of HR at my job 4. Urology manager notified to act 5. Another Dr had to intervene for Dr Pearle to act 6. I nearly filed for bankruptcy

She is absolutely great. He knowledge and communication level if fabulous

DR.Pearle has literally saved my life on several occasions. I can not tell you how wonderful this doctor has been to me.
