Dr. Margaret McDonnell, MD

I became a patient of Dr. McDonnell after a hospital stay and a high risk pregnancy determination. It was an incredible accident that I will be forever thankful for. For my first two babies I felt like I was a bystander to the whole process. Dr. McDonnell listened and treated me as any mother to be would want. She took away my fears by answering my questions patiently- no matter how long it took. After 3 miscarriages I was able to have a successful VBAC with an 8 plus lb baby followed by an emergency c-section when my last baby’s heartbeat crashed during labor. If you are looking for an OBGYN -look no further. As I stated in the title of this review- in a world of impersonal medicine- she is a welcome breath of fresh air.

Many years ago my wife and I lost a baby at 26 weeks and were introduced to Dr McDonnell and her office. She was very calming in her counseling, telling us to call back when we get pregnant. It is because of her office and her professionalism we have 2 beautiful children. They provided support when necessary and listened to our concerns even when we were not aware we were struggling. She is the only OB/GYN I would recommend in the WNY area!!

I had four miscarriages/I was giving up hope/ I was 12 weeks pregnant/ I went directly from my OB dr office who told me everything was alright/ I begged to see dr McDonnell who was kind enough to take me without an appt/ dr McDonnell examined me and said I was losing my fifth pregnancy/dr McDonnell immediately rushed me to the hospital booked an OR room and performed a cerclage for an incompetent cervix / if I had listened to my regular OB doctor I would of lost my fifth pregnancy/I have a perfect son thanks to dr mcdonnell’s care!
