Dr. Marc Bernstein, MD

We found him to be uninterested in my husband’s gastroparesis. Basically he said there is no cure, small talk proceeded and we left. No recommendations for diet, registered dietitian and that was the visit. Disappointed with Dr. Bernstein, since his accolades seemed to be very good. We found him to be the exact opposite of the comments we read.

Excellent visit and care. Easy to talk to and takes his time. You are not rushed out. Explains medicines and procedures thoroughly.

Dr. Bernstein had come highly recommended by two doctors I trust, and my initial visit with him to schedule a colonoscopy was marked by a sense of complete confidence in him. He is a warm, knowledgeable person who takes the time to explain everything thoroughly. The prep, which I initially dreaded because in the past I’ve been up all night, mercifully allowed the whole thing to be over — and me to sleep — by 2am, thanks to Dr. Bernstein’s special instructions.On the day of the procedure I found his staff to be skilled and friendly, and the upbeat, caring conversation we had relaxed me completely. Dr. Bernstein reassuringly spoke with me after the procedure and then followed up with a phone call in the evening. As colonoscopies go, the entire experience could not have been more pleasant! Without reservation, Dr. Bernstein has my highest recommendation.

My experiences over the past 4 years with Dr. Bernstein have been excellent. He is a wonderful GI doc and has great bedside manner.

I was charged for an office visit when the Doctor called me to give me the results of a colonoscopy.

Dr. Bernstein is a phenomenal physician. He was very attentive to what I told him about my symptoms and offered many different options for me. Very professional and has a great bedside manner. Highly recommend him and his staff! Excellent service by all.

I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago and I thought Dr Bernstein and his staff were all superb. Very professional, caring and efficient. This isn’t my first experience with a colonoscopy however definitely the best.

Total money grab office. Referred to him by GP for colonoscopy - insisted that I come in for an office visit to answer basic questions prior to colonoscopy. I asked if it could be done over the phone and they relented and said yes. Questions were asked by intake person, then was forced to schedule a phone "appointment" with the doctor, who took 7 minutes to ask me the same basic questions as the receptionist. Then the office billed our insurance $146 for a 7 minute phone call for the same questions asked by the receptionist. Have NEVER had a doctor handle a basic phone call, much less a screening, this way. Will NOT be having a colonoscopy with this office.

Met his nurse, who in 5 minutes said, we need to do an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I questioned several times if it was the right choice to do such an invasive procedure, and asked how much it would cost. Rescheduled 3 times, asking to talk to the doctor and to try to know the cost. But no, talked again to the nurse and I was told that they won't know the cost before the procedure is done and billed to the insurance. The day of the procedure, I met the doctor...for 20 seconds before the procedure, who told me " we are going to know why you are constipated"... which was not why I was getting that done. Result of the entire procedure...they found nothing that deserved a colonoscopy or endoscopy. They simply schedule you for the most expensive procedure. Then, they will do less invasive procedure...

Doesn't seem to want to treat sick people. Very difficult to get an appointment with him. Office loses test results. Not open to new ideas. Does not seem to stay on top of new knowledge in the field. Seems happiest to do procedures.
