Dr. Mahendra Matta, MD

I've known Dr. Matta for more than 20 years. Originally I went to him for pervasive long term effects from a case of giardia I contracted in the Adirondacks. After endoscopy which he told me showed damage to the sigmoid area but no signs left of the parasite, he got me on the correct medication which ultimately relieved me of the symptoms and eventually allowed me to return to a normal diet (some food were triggers for severe cramping and muscle spasms). Following that, he set up routine 3 or 5 year colonoscopies, removing benign polyps twice; has conducted three infrared coagulation treatments for internal hemorrhoids over the last 15 years--all successful at relieving that discomfort. Potential patients need to know that he is a quiet, introspective doctor who takes his job quite seriously. I have learned to trust him implicitly. He is one of my favorite doctors.

The staff put me at ease immediately. I felt very confident in their expertise and trusted Dr. Matta's professional opinion about my situation. I didn't have to wait long at all and everything was taken care of.

I have been a patient of Dr. Matta since 2013 when first diagnosed with hemmoroids both internal and external. After treating me in office two separate times in five years,he recommended hemmorectomy with third flare up of this awful, uncomfortable condition. Dr. Matta is kind, intelligent and caring. He knows his stuff and though I was scared of the surgery and recovery from all I had read online, it has been smooth sailing under his care. His staff are also very helpful. I highly recommend him

I had problems with severe hemorrhoids a long time ago&was referred to Dr.Matta when I lived in Cincy.I was nervous about going, but he is a very nice man, with a very soothing quiet manner.He made me feel at ease.He 1st did a sigmoidscopy, &I barely felt any discomfort.He then wanted me2have a Colonoscopy,& unlike other Doctors didn'tprescribe the huge jugs of water but the small bottle of fleet liquid 4 prep.I didn't even feel the Colonoscopy at all.I live in Hamilton now & want2go back2him.

Dr. Matta helped diagnose my colon cancer. He has guided me through every step of the testing and helped me devise a plan of attack. He and his staff were knowledgable, kind and extremely helpful.

Dr. Matta is amazing. He is a quiet man but very good at what he does. He ensured I was OK and comfortable at all times. He knows what he is doing, is very caring, is very nice and makes himself and his staff available for when you need them.
