Met Dr. Wong today for a consult
I read through some of these reviews and was nervous about Dr. Wong based on the feedback on this site. I can't begin to tell you how different our meeting with him was today. He was professional, kind, easy to talk to, very informative and direct to the point. He went out of his way to answer any questions and even helped us with a few we hadn't even thought about yet. He was not in a rush to kick us out the door either. Obviously he has to deliver some bad news because of the business he is in but both my wife and I were completely impressed with him and how quickly he jumped on board with helping us arrange treatment and appointments. If anyone is seeing him and worried, don't be. Not sure what these other people are talking about. 100% recommend.
What went well
  • I felt respected
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Listened & answered questions
  • Explained conditions well
  • Staff friendliness
  • Appointment wasn't rushed
  • Trusted the provider's decisions
  • Wait times

My current experience with Dr. Wong in the past year is not at my satisfaction. He does not explain things properly and when you ask to repeat and explain different options or why!?!? Answer: I don't know why I have NO answers for you. He gets very frustrated when questioning and has no patience. Never properly explains imaging results and always says he has no access to review actual imaging results. His nurse Karri is very unpleasant to be around, not friendly at all and not helpful. You actually will meet her once and then that's pretty much it. Terrible support from the entire Oncology department. I am the daughter of a stage 4 cancer patient and would never recommend this doctor, staff and cancer treatment center.

Even 1 star is too many. I saw Dr Wong 2 wks ago after an ER cat scan showed a 6" mass in my stomach area and a couple of spots on my liver. At that point, I had NOT had a biopsy. They (S&W) set me up with appt w/Dr Wong first. He immediately told me that my mass was inoperable and I had anywhere from a few months to a few years to live. I am trying to reschedule with another Dr for results of the biopsy I had last wk. Wong is a jerk, self-important, arrogant. Worst physician ever!!

Dr. Wong has treated my mother's cancer. He is incompetent and the worst physician I have ever come across. He has asked her multiple times what she would like to do for treatment. Who is the doctor? Where is the care plan? On numerous occasions he has told her she should have died years ago. People with your cancer live three months, you've lived three years. He has all but written her off as a success story because she has fought to stay alive. No thanks to him!!! Aweful physician!!!
