Dr. Lauren Steinmetz, MD

I been going to Dr Steinmetz for many years. She is excellent. Does not sugar coats what I needed to stay healthy. Always saw me if I had an office call. I received a letter today from Southtowns Medical she is leaving. Once I find out where she is going my wife and I will follow.

Dr. Steinmetz should really review a patient’s chart prior to the appointment. Honestly, its a waste of my time and money to deal with a unprepared doctor. Not to mention her attitude was more than I needed to put up with.

Dr. Steinmetz is a wonderful Doctor. She listens! I had a mystery illness that no other Doctor could pin point. She took it as a personal challenge to get to the bottom of it. I am very grateful to have her as my physician.

I was very impressed with this Doctor. She touches all bases to get to the bottom of your condition. I would highly recommend her.

I have now had four appointments with Dr Steinmetz and I am extremely happy with her service. I find her to be very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and understanding. She is a wonderful listener and always suggests several courses of treatment with emphasis being on what is workable for the patient. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for quality medical treatment.

Dr. Steinmetz is an amazing Doctor. She friendly, personable and takes her time to explain what she needs to. After giving me her recommendations she always asks me if I have any questions or agree with her plan. Fast wait times and friendly staff.

I recently connected with Dr. Steinmetz for my first appointment. She spent quite a bit of time with me. She reviewed meds, patient taught on some newer medications and asked what she felt my needs were for health status. I felt she was professional and courteous and was not extremely hurried in her approach with me. She is likeable and respectful.

I was looking for a new practice that specialized in diabetes and endocrine issues, and came across Southwestern Medical Associates. I was also looking for a woman doctor, and Dr. Steinmetz was accepting new patients so I chose her. I didn't wait long (they took me back at my scheduled time) and the appointment was quick and easy. I also liked the nurse and the rest of the staff. They are a busy practice, so naturally a lot of people in and out. I thought Dr. Steinmetz was great! She took her time asking about family history, concerns/issues, weight management, and ordered several screenings for me based on all of the above. Overall it was a good experience!

She walked into the room (this being our first appointment with her), no warmth, no friendly smile, there was nothing professional about her at all. After my second appointment, where again, nothing pleasant or professional about her at all. She hocked up a dry snort from her throat and then coughed without covering her mouth, and literally cut me off as I was trying to explain something - in a very condescending way and accused me of not being “forthcoming” with a nurse practitioner I was seeing for other reasons. The relationships with all my Physicians is extremely important to me and I wouldn’t ever think of not being honest with any of them and for her to suggest that I wasn’t - spoke volume about her. I would never recommend her to anyone for any reason.

Was not aware of a life threatening allergy. Was dismissive and condescending.

She was very dismissive and condescending. She didn’t have any of my files and just pretended she knew what was going on, after five minutes of talking to me.

She is attentive and understanding. Does a great job answering questions and they do a great job of keeping appointment times and moving you along!

I scheduled an appointment for a physical in August 2018. After the nurse collected wt, ht, pulse, BP, and temp, she came in and asked why I was there. I explained I was there for a physical. I could tell by the look on her face that that was not in the cards for her day. She sat down at her laptop and asked questions, logging in my answers. She completed my "physical" by using her stethoscope through my shirt. Total time with me was under 5 minutes.
