I don’t think he understood why I was there
I was hopeful at first! he explained the basics of thyroid cancer treatment however that was to inform me that I had an “easy cancer” and shouldn’t need care 6 months post treatment 1. I don’t think he read the hospital report I was following up with him as a hematologist since I was fresh out of the hospital with pe and dvt he mostly overlooked that completely besides giving me a refill. he also ordered an ultrasound of my throat but I was told in the hospital I would need a chest ct i had other related concerns about effected extremities none of those things were addressed 2. My cancer was not easy it included a tracheostomy and heart failure among so many other things he even mentioned that a previous patient got mad at him for saying this. life without a thyroid is never easy even without complications i just want a dr who isn’t dismissive and will address my concerns and educate me on my condition i know that is asking allot but i want to be a participant in my healthcare

An attentive doctor
I am very satisfied with Dr. Thein. He talks to you face to face--in contrast to too many doctors who speak while looking at a computer screen. He listens to your questions and explains well. I particularly appreciate that he is not dogmatic.
