Dr Lammert failed to prioritize our child's health over her own biased views. Our child met the diagnostic criteria for clinical malnutrition based on WHO guidelines, a very serious condition that can lead to developmental delays and cognitive impairments for the rest of his life, especially if it's not treated quickly. His weight percentile went from 20% to 1% in the first 5.5 weeks of life, and his daily weight gain was about half of the target amount (0.5 oz / day). We expressed our preference for adding formula to his diet to ensure proper weight gain, but instead of validating formula supplementation as a safe and effective treatment, Dr Lammert described it as more of a last resort and continued to frame things in terms of breastfeeding goals. We also asked about our child's lip tie, which she didn't even look at! And she said that it would break when the child falls down anyway! She also said that CMPA is only diagnosed if there is blood in the stool, which is not true.
