Best I've had
I've been seeing Dr Stevens now for over a year. I have multiple issues and have been under care of several different doctors over the years. Some of the things that stand out to me about Dr Stevens and his associates are: the consistent air of kind compassion by everyone in the practice, starting with the person who took my initial inquiry. A contrast that stands out from the rest is that the other pain specialists that I've seen exhibit the attitude that their purpose is to control drug use and root out abusers. Dr. Stephens is careful, but his focus is to determine the cause of the pain and find the most effective way to reduce or eliminate it while maximizing patient quality of life.

Unsure of the negative reviews.
I have been Dr Stephens for 5-6 years. He’s by far has been the best pain management doctor I’ve ever had. He’s very polite and easy to talk to. I wouldn’t go to another doctor if it was free.

Not a compassionate man!!!
Dr Stephens does not have a good bedside manner, doesn’t like to answer questions bout ur health, he will only do the bare minimum to try and help and if that’s doesn’t work he don’t care, he will not try anything else. He don’t trust his patients and I don’t know why anyone would want to pay to get treated like that with our very important health!! Be very scared!!

Needs Investigated by the Board of Medicine
I started seeing Dr. Stephens over a year ago and from the first visit he did not even find out about how I was injured and help me in the way that I needed help. He suggested the neck and spine injections for me and I did so many I have gained over 60 pounds which hasn't help me feel ANY better. He never cared to listen or directly HELP ME. I still cannot Bend my right knee, almost 4 years now, and my knee has had injections as well. Never helped it at all. I have seen several specialists and Dr. Ahmad and her staff in Norman are amazing. She really isn thorough and asked why he never treated my chronic pain, chronic inflammation to the point my joints are so inflamed. Investigate him! He is billing insurance companies and making money he shouldn't be! Awful Dr.

A very bad doctor.
This person not only did not manage my pain, but put me on medication I told him did not work in the past and recommended a procedure I've already had that did not work in the past. He did NOT care about me or my pain. He was in the room less then 5 minutes. He didn't even tell my what was wrong with my back until he was up and on his way out the door and I asked if I could see my MRI results. The medication he put me on gave me extremely negative side effects, reported to them, and the office wasn't interested in seeing if I was ok at all after prescribing me medication that gave me extreme depression and suicidal thoughts. I'm glad I came out of it, but I beg of you, please see someone else, another doctor that cares about the fellow human they pledged to assist. Due to this office not helping me, it's just been another delay in trying to get pain relief while I wait to meet with a neurosurgeon. They do not care.

I am suffering from diffuse Degenerative Disc Disease and foraminal stenosis. The debilitating disease has recently progressed to my cervical vertebrae (neck.) I saw Dr Stephens this morning as an attempt to delay neurosurgery. He administered a spinal epidural steroids injection and I was extremely pleased with his bedside manner AND his procedural technique. The injection was only slightly uncomfortable (most patients find it extremely painful) and was completed in just a few minutes. I am already feeling improvement in 6 hours (routinely requires 24 or more hours.) Based on this single interaction, I recommend Dr Stephens without reservation! Danny Glover, DVM, MPH, DACVPM

I was referred to Dr. Stephens by my Primary Physician Dr. Ron Hill. I have been so pleased with the care that Dr Stephens and his team provide. My pain issues are addressed and managed in such a way that I can function again. He has improved the quality of my life greatly through his knowledge, care and concern for my overall well being. I am grateful to him on many levels.

When you're referral is in his office and they call 3 weeks later to set up your appointment, after you were told sternly they get 20 to 25 new parents weekly and they are booked up too mid July. You'll have too wait until we can get around too calling you. FORGET IT. Call Dr. Phillips in OKC, he's employees are curious and get you in quickly.
