Negligent and uncaring
Dr. Layman took over Dr. Cranwell's Dunlap office location when he retired. I was a patient of Dr. Cranwell's for many years so I was hopeful Dr. Layman would be just as good of a doctor. I am not impressed with Dr. Layman at all. He seems to not hear a word you say or if he does he does not care. My family also has seen him and feels the same way. He took my 83 year old father (with a history of extremely high cholesterol) completely off of cholesterol medicine and has not tested his cholesterol in over a year. He is also seeking another doctor. My mother went for a test that did not turn out right and they never called her to tell her the results. She ended up going to someone else who referred her to a urologist and this resulted in her having to do a biopsy. I would recommend anyone who cares about their own health to find someone besides Dr. Layman.

My husband and I did our first visit with Dr Layman after moving to Tennessee from Florida. Extremely pleased with our new doctor. He took all the time we need to discuss our multiple health issues and set up a plan for continuous health care. Dr. Layman has a wonderful personality and the staff is caring and very friendly. We would highly recommend having Dr. Layman as a health care provider

I only met Dr. Layman today. While I've had some wonderful doctors over the years, he is the kindest, most caring doctor I've ever had. He was thorough in explaining medicines I've taken for years (though I look everything up of the internet before I take it), he told me things I din't know and was informative about issues the other doctors have not discussed with me. It breaks my heart to leave my current doctor, but I'm greatly impressed with Dr. Layman
