Everyone was courteous, but I was questioned on who recommended that we came in and followed up by sounding like it was a non-issue. I'm happy we came in and got an x-ray to see her spinal curvature and to know not to worry about it though.

Dr. Mencio has been seeing 2 of my children for a rare bone disorder, and just completed the first operation on my oldest daughter. Years of experience have shown in his knowledge. Very thorough in his explanation of his findings. He doesn't spend much time on things that he is not concerned about, and is 100% correct in his findings. Trust his experience. Some will complain on long office visits but that is a good thing. His status in the industry lands him some of the most difficult situations in regards to bone conditions. During our consultations before and after the operation he took his time to address any and all concerns. Not once did he look at his watch or give us the feeling he was trying to get to the next patients. Would 100% recommend Dr. Mencio. We look forward to working with him in the future.

We were referred to this office by our previous Dr that retired. It was an awful experience and I will never go back. The appointment time we had for our 2 YEAR OLD was at 9:00am. They ask for you to get there a few minutes early to make sure your information is all ready. We got there at 8:45am. We didn't get called back until 10:05am. I waited in a waiting room with my 2 year old for a total of 1 hour 20 minutes. They didn't really notice the time or ever apologize for the wait. After finally getting in the room, we quickly took x-rays and waited for Dr. Mencio. He came in and quickly discussed the X-rays and didn't even do a physical exam of her hips. He was in the room probably 5 minutes. Then we left. I didn't feel like I could ask questions and then as we were walking out, he mentioned in the hall something from her X-rays that to me was concerning but just moved along. Because of my daughters age, we now have to travel out of state for a second opinion. Not a good visit at all.

Dr. Mencio was amazing with our daughter. His surgical team is the best and the staff at Vanderbilt Childrens is unbeatable. She had surgery on a Friday and he came by to check on her each day over the weekend.

Be aware that if you do make an appointment with Dr. Mencio you could be waiting several hours after your appointment time to see him. My wife and son have been waiting 2 hours, so far. They had to reschedule another doctor's appointment because they haven't been seen by Dr. Mention yet. Be aware of overbooking!

The office never has any appts open to be seen in emergency cases! You only ever see him every six months. 2 times they forgot we were waiting in a room to be seen, we were waiting almost 2 hours. He barely looked at my daughter except for X-rays. Her scoliosis kept getting worse and his office kept saying just take Ibuprofen. Was not impressed with them at all!
