One of the best rheumatologists in the area
I’ve been through a good few specialists and Dr. Kirby has been the best. Quick diagnosis, no hassle there at all. When no one else would listen, he did. Treatment has been well and he is understanding. It feels like he really takes his time with you and with explaining the issue and what treatment will be like. It makes me feel optimistic for my life and how it can be. Everyone at this office is kind and caring, extremely so. You will feel important. My biggest complaint: it is extremely difficult getting an appointment. The phone is rarely answered. I had two referrals sent here, still nothing. I had to have a referral and then I had to call twice. That is, admittedly, pretty ridiculous. It’s an independent practice, so there’s not a massive team to take your calls and organize you, but… wow! But, if you want good care, be persistent… it is not something you will regret. The care is enough to forget that.

I couldn’t ask for a better Dr. and staff. He has stuck with me working to find out what was wrong. He is willing to try alternatives to traditional medicine in an effort to best help me. I love the staff as well they are always friendly extremely responsive to messages and requests for information.

Brilliant doctor! I am a physician myself and live in Charlotte. I probably drive past 10 rheumatologists on my way to see Dr. Kirby but there is no question that it is worth it. He is a doctor's doctor with an amazing knowledge base, excellent understanding of the latest treatments and a great combination of compassion and intelligence that is very rare. I send all of my patients to him and the feedback that I get is consistently great.

I have never been more impressed with a doctor and his staff. I have been to several specialists and none of them could tell me what was wrong with me. I have had pain and stiffness since I was a very young man and Dr. Kirby listened to my concerns and within the hour made the correct diagnosis. That was 2 months ago and I am now a new man ; free of most of my pain and able to function again. I would recommend this doctor to any one with arthritis .

I've been with Doctor Kirby since 2012. He has been treating me for psoriatic arthritis. He has been the most knowledgeable, caring and responsive doctor I've ever experienced for treating my condition. I would recommend him to anyone suffering from autoimmune arthritis and other autoimmune conditions. His staff is amazing!

Dr Kirby and his team are wonderful. My RA has been challenging to treat (I tend to develop reactions to meds after some time). Dr Kirby always has an alternative option and I have never missed a day of work or had to not do something because of my RA. I highly recommend him and his team.

I am very pleased with Dr Kirby and his staff. I went to another rumathologist back in March 2017 and was very dissatisfied. Dr Kirby listened and was very compassionate towards me. He made sure I had the appropriate lab work done and finaly gave me an answer to what has been consuming me for the past year. I am very happy to work with him in this new journey. He really wants the best for his patients, you can tell he is there to help. Thank yoy Dr. Kirby.

Can never get a live person on their phone...it is voicemail HELL! Hard to arrange appointments. Twice now, I have called in a request for a refill and they have said it will be taken care of and it wasn't! I had to call back repeatedly, get their annoying voicemail and request again. There is a receptionist there when you walk in the door...why can't she answer the phone??? I am changing to a Mooresville doc that wants my business and answers the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Extremely difficult to get an appointment with. Cancelled an appointment for a vacation and had to wait months to get back in. Could never get refills spite calling in and getting confirmations that the office would send them in. I ended up finding a new specialist that confirmed that it is unnecessary for the constant "safety monitoring" that he required. Terrible service!

Frustrated patient in Indian Trail, NC – Oct 27, 2016
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Kirby?
I had seen several doctors over a 7 year period in regards to intermittent pain in my lower back ( sciatic ) and extreme intermittent pain between my shoulder blades near my spine. I was offered a steroid shot ( but declined) and pain medication to deal with the pain as needed. No one could tell me what was wrong after countless visits and x-rays. After the first visit with Dr. Kirby, he came to the conclusion after a blood test that I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. He is an expert in his field.
