I am looking for a new GI doctor. Dr. Brown didn't pay much attention to me or to medical records--even saying that additional review would take place when I had my endoscopy, which she had already performed 6 weeks earlier.

Dismissive
It's been years since my last visit but I am looking for a new GI at the moment for a reason. Dr. Brown dismissed a lot of my issues as just being overweight. She was a bit condescending and I never felt she took me seriously. She did do 2 procedures on me and that I did trust her with. But bedside manner isn't great.

So glad I made the switch
I went to see Dr Brown with stomach issues and she was very attentive and was quick to respond to emails. When I went in for the procedure she spoke directly to me about things we discussed months prior . It was night and day from my past experiences . Highly recommend her and Jefferson’s patient portal . It is amazing . I never picked up a phone .

Dr. Brown was very attentive, patiently listened to all I had to say. Weighed the options with me and explained the differences. She was aware of something that I had never heard before and we started with that process first. I appreciated her candor in going over the options.

I met with Dr. Brown in the summer of 2020. I'm writing a review now because, at time I met with her, I was so ill I hadn't processing what was happening in the moment. Dr. Brown was dismissive, rude, accused me of faking my symptoms, and was one of the worst doctors I have ever encounter. After an endoscopy, she loudly said "see, there isn't anything wrong with you, are you happy now," come to find out years later that I have a chronic illness that impacts my GI system, that in her report she did not share her findings honestly (healed ulcers, markers of delayed emptying, etc). Im writing this review for other people like me, and because when I expressed concern/desire for a second opinion about her (and another doctor at the same practice), they were both told and accused me of being the problem.

Absolutely wouldrecommend Dr. Brown. Very thorough, takes time to explain everything. Very caring, makes sure you understand what is going on. Goes out of her way to make sure you are seen quickly especially after you have been hospitalized.

Dr Brown has a cool, no nonsense approach. I prefer that. She has been there when I needed her, going out of her way to call me after hours and when she wasn’t in the office.

Wish I would have read these reviews before seeing Dr. Brown. As many have said, no bedside manner. Everyone else in the office was very nice but she made me feel like I was an idiot. I will not be going back to her. Maybe she should read these reviews or at least be made aware of them and work on the way she talks to patients. Making people feel comfortable and not degrading them is the key to being a good doctor.

Doctor did not seem very personable. She examined me and said things like “very interesting”, “hmmm”. I left a confused about what she thought was going on, but I followed her instructions and took a medication and am feeling well again.

I did leave a review a couple of weeks ago but I don’t see it so I’m going to write another one. I saw Dr Brown a couple of years ago , I thought she was very short with me at the initial office visit but I shrugged it off as maybe she was having a bad day. But then came the day for my procedure . After it was over with she came to talk to me. She embarrassed me in front of a whole clinic full of people ,, remember there’s no walls or doors and Dr. Brown was very loud and now my business was everyone else’s knowledge. The only reason I bring this up now is because I have been having some issues and deciding where to go . I know I won’t be coming back there.

Dr Brown cued my stomach. She knows that I'm not a native speaker so she wrote down the instructions for me. I saw people saying that they do not like the way she talks, but it didn't bother me at all. She was kind to me. And she requested a specific medicine for me for a couple times so she is responsible.

Went to Dr Brown in August for long term stomach pain, and other GI issues. After a quick exam I was sent away with the idea I had a hernia and no GI no GI issues and didn’t need to come back. 4 months later testing showed H Pylori and precancerous cells in my stomach. I’m glad a surgeon urged me to get a second opinion.

I was very nervous about having a colonoscopy done since I had a positive fecal test done. My primary reccommended this practice. Dr. Brown spoke with me and relaxed me to a great extent. She did the procedure and all was well. Would see her again if I had a problem. Really put me at ease.
