After 5 years
Glaucoma surgery of 5 years ago is still working. Answers questions. Eye center, where he is located, has well trained and experienced techs for routine eye tests. Hard to schedule and long waits.

Lack of communication and poor judgment
He lacks communication you really have to ask questions after questions to get him to respond and not only that he isn’t proactive when it comes to inocular eye pressure - academically he might be good but for some reason it doesn’t translate into a good clinician and investigative processing .. I will leave it at that

i went for him as a second opinion for glaucoma suspect way back 2016, he didn't spend much time with me, no testing performed, but he charged insurance company more than $1000, the contracted amount was $600, i had to pay for the entire amount, he charged so unreasonable , so i cancelled the following appointment

Dr. Francis has been an excellent clinician, and his surgical skills and judgement has been very good. The man knows his stuff. If you peel back all the patient emotional layer, this man is a physician you can trust. The support staff isn't my flavor (Pasadena), but Dr. Francis treats me like an intelligent adult. I'm very well read on my ocular conditions, and Dr. Francis and I can have dialogue. It's refreshing.

I left the Doheny Practice in Fountain Valley because of the last two specialists I saw., he was one. His expertise may be great, he may be a great technician, I don't know, but a physician he is not. I've spent my life in healthcare, and I've never felt less like a person than when I was with him, and Dr. Heilweil. Someone needs to get a message through....we are people, individuals, not computer screens, charts, and check books.
