Cataract Consultation
There were several tests required prior to seeing Dr. Mason. Everyone was personable and efficient, with little wait time between each test. Dr. Mason was very thorough with the tests he completed and explained the results thoroughly.

Excellent Opthamologist
His office is run very efficiently. He comes in having reviewed the tests administered in the office, and then does his own review. The waits are short. He allows time for questions after his exam. I have been a patient of his for more than 20 years.

Dr Mason
I really liked him. He took the time to explain what needed to be done, explaining with a photo of the eye and to listen to what I had to say. Very thorough.

Always a caring approach
I have been a patient for many years as Dr Mason completed my LASIK surgery. I have always been blessed with the caring team and how informative Dr is every single time I’ve needed to visit. I’d refer any of my family or friends.

Pre-cataract evaluation
Everyone was very accommodating. Our transporter was sent to the wrong location & they were still able to see my special needs sister. Her disabilities made it very difficult for them to get the pictures they needed, but they persisted very patiently & got the job done. They went over & above normal for her case.

Knowledgeable and really listens!
My appointment was to evaluate me for LASIK after another doctor made me very nearsighted when he did my cataract surgery. I’ve been unhappy with my vision since having cataract surgery 5 years ago. Dr. Mason came up with a solution to correct one eye for distance and I’m trying it out with a contact in that eye. I’ll have it permanently corrected next month and can’t wait!

Happy patient – Sep 05, 2022

Won't go back again ever
Waited months to get in to appointment. Waited just about as long in the cramped, crowded waiting room with my ride since I was having my eyes dilated and had a long trip home. Went to Dr Mason based on his education and experience. He was only in the room with me for about 5 minutes and I was there for 2 hours. Despite being seen in Iowa City for my eye condition he was very dismissive. He said, "Its not like you have a tumor". For the record I do not have a tumor, never had a tumor and never suggested it. He needs to work on his bedside manner. I wouldn't want him treating a dog.
