Dr. Merritt was just what a doctor should be.
Dr. Merritt was attentive, direct, informative and kind. He made my father feel at ease and answered all of his concerns. My dad has had a bad knee for several years and when we left Dr. Merritt’s office, he was super pleased and relieved at the level of care, concern and game plan that Dr. Merritt came up with to help him with his knee. My father received X-rays , an exam, all questions answered and a cortisone shot in under an hour. Precise care. We as a family, felt very pleased about the level of care my father received and comfortable with Dr. Merritt’s assessment in moving forward. It is really nice and rare to go to a Dr. nowadays and have them actually take the time to listen and provide proactive care that helps right away..Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Andrew Merritt.

7 week knee check after surgery
I was so grumpy but he kept his cool with me, very professional. Provided logical reassurance I’ll be back to my normal routine really soon. I have autoimmune joint issues aside from knee which has made my recovery a bit longer. Thank you for your patience!!

I went to Dr. Merritt today, October 31, for a one year post op for a tkr. An X-ray was given and Dr. Merritt explained it and my knee’s progress very well. He answered all my questions and I left feeling very much at ease with his update and suggestions. I wouldn’t definitely recommend him.

ACL surgery
Dr. Merritt did a great job with my ACL repair surgery. He was attentive through the entire rehab process and was quick to return any inquiries I had. Explained all my options and helped me make the best decision for my situation. It's feeling as good as new and I'm ready to go back to fire academy.

Very impressed and appreciative of Dr. Merritt. Dr. Merritt was an alternative to another potential surgeon in the area. I was apprehensive about surgery, not sure about Proliance as a place to go, was nervous about the whole event. The staff, starting in the Lake Tapps location, Renton facility, Covington facility-top notch. Understanding of the seriousness of the event for me & all reassured me and my husband. Proliance was very proactive about everything-providing billing info in advance, scheduling all my appts in advance, taking time to meet with me. Excellent.

THIS TEAM IS THE BEST!!
Dr. Merritt took the time to listen to the issues I had with my knees and after x-rays, concurred with me that surgery was the best option. I was a bit nervous, who isn't anymore. The appointments prior to surgery only increased the confidence I had that this was the right thing to do. The day of the first surgery, I was apprehensive only due to the unknown. I was in the surgery center around 6am and home, with my meds, by 1230pm. Physical therapy for 6 weeks, then back into surgery for the other knee. Physical therapy for another 6 weeks, then I was heading back to work full-time. I feel that the confidence of the staff, my positive this-is-a-good-thing attitude, and doing what the doctors and therapists recommended is what made this experience go so smoothly. Be gentle with yourself. Do the exercises. Elevate, rest, ice and take your meds as needed. You got this and THIS TEAM IS THE BEST!!

Dr. Merritt and his group are "top drawer".
I was referred to Dr. Merritt by my primary care doctor after struggling for 10 months locally with the local orthopedic group. I had appointments in 4 days. They knew I was travelling a long distance to see Dr. Merritt so his group set up appointments in x-ray, MRI, and evaluation during the same trips. Surgery was scheduled, all pre-surgery was accomplished very fast and they called to check on us for 7 days before the surgery. My surgery was scheduled allowing me to travel home on the same day, even as they would have preferred my staying in the Seattle area for at least 244 hours. They called to check on me for 5 days after surgery. Post surgery has been excellent. My PT group is amazed at the excellence in all aspects of my knee replacement. I recommend Mr. Merritt and Proliance group without reservation.

How Partial Knee Replacement Saved Me
My Knee Replacement Story When I turned 60, I was having unbearable pain in my right knee. Turns out I had bone on bone contact. Injections did not work. I was desperate and was being scheduled and prepped for a full knee replacement at a top Seattle hospital. The expected recovery was 3 months. I had just started a new job and did not want to take that much time off, but I didn’t think I had a choice. At the same time, my wife was having minor surgery at the Proliance Orthopedic Associates surgical center in Renton, and heard about Dr. Andrew Merritt who practiced there and did partial knee replacements. I had never heard about this option. I met with Dr. Merritt and after reviewing my case, I was informed that I was a perfect candidate for a partial knee replacement. The pain and recovery time would be greatly reduced compared to a full knee replacement. The top Seattle hospital told me I was not a good candidate for a partial knee r

Partial Knee: Best Decision Ever
Dr. Merritt's conservative approach to helping me with my knee was very much appreciated. With arthritis on the inside of my knee, the pain was unbearable and I was icing constantly. After months of trying different alternatives (cortisone shots, gel injections), it was time to consider surgery and I was ready to toss in the towel and get the whole knee replaced at that point. However, with Dr. Merritt's consult, I took his advice and agreed to the partial replacement. Best decision ever! The healing process was much easier than I expected, but I also worked hard on my physical therapy every single day at home (before and after surgery) and saw my physical therapist for my weekly sessions and new exercises. By week three, post-surgery, I had met my goal and was making new ones. At six weeks I was hiking several miles, swimming, and paddle boarding in Hawaii. Walking is no longer an issue and I'm out enjoying my favorite activities again!
