Care Philosophy: Spinal surgery is complex. I feel it is vital that patients understand the nature of their problem, treatment options, and anticipated post-operative course and likely outcomes. Doctors can best help patients by carefully reviewing relevant records and imaging, and, most importantly, listening and asking/answering questions. My patients find that I ``tell it like it is,`` and most appreciate that approach.

Care Philosophy: As an athlete throughout my life and a rabid sports fan, I have always had a special passion for the field of sports medicine. I enjoy treating athletes from all walks of life - from the pediatric sports injury to the weekend warrior with arthritis pain, my focus is getting patients back to their sport and their passion. What few people recognize is that sports medicine is an integrated field that requires several moving parts: coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, primary care physicians, and orthopedic surgeons when needed. As a team physician for the University of South Alabama, I am again working with a team of experts who share a common goal: to keep athletes safe and to return them to the field after an injury.

Care Philosophy: As orthopaedic surgeons, AOS (Advanced Ortho & Spine) is fixated on restoring pain-free function to injured or diseased joints and spine. This often requires a very individualized approach, as there are typically multiple factors involved, and no two patients are exactly alike. There are numerous conservative options at our disposal, and surgery is always our last resort. We utilize the most up-to-date techniques to ensure the greatest opportunity for a full recovery with our patients.

Care Philosophy: I believe it is necessary to spend time with my patients talking about their lifestyle and associating that with their complaints. This allows me to determine if lifestyle modifications are necessary to help with their orthopaedic problems. Often, with Modifications, Physical Therapy, Anti-inflammatory Medication and Exercise, we can avoid surgery. When surgery is necessary, using procedures like arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques, my patients get back to work and life more quickly.
