Biography: Dr. Saluja graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University in Connecticut in 1996 where he was the recipient of the Hawk Prize for Excellence in Molecular Biology. He received his MD degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He went on do to his Internal Medicine training at Columbia, serving as Chief Resident before completing additional training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He served as the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from 2012 until 2018 before returning to Columbia. Dr Saluja continues to be active in teaching, research, and clinical practice. He has was named Teacher of the Year four times, has been named a Top Doctor by Castle-Connolly and New Jersey Monthly, and has numerous research publications and presentations at national meetings. Dr Saluja is a full-time faculty member at Columbia and sees patients at the Herbert Irving Pavilion at the Washington Heights campus.

Biography: Elsa-Grace V. Giardina, MD,MS is Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center and Attending Physician at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. She trained as a non-invasive cardiologist, pharmaco-electrophysiologist and clinical pharmacologist all at Columbia University and recieved a Master's degree in metabolism from the Institute of Human Nutrition, College of Physicians & Surgeons. Her current research and educational focus is on cardiovascular risk and the impact of nutrition and obesity on intergenerational cardiovascular health and disease among women and their families. Dr. Giardina is recognized nationally as an expert on cardio-active drugs and has been a member of the Cardio-Renal Advisory Committee of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Pharmacology study section of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Her many honors include the Jane V. Myers Memorial Medical Scholarship from Bryn Mawr College, the PMA Faculty Development Award in Clinical Pharmacology, the American Heart Association Appreciation Award for community service, the American Medical Women's Association Gender Equity Award and she is a Trustee of the New York Academy of Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the American College of Physicians (FACP), and the American Heart Association (FAHA). She was awarded the "Award of Excellence" by Governor George Pataki of New York State for research advancements on cardiac disease in women and for developing the Center for Women's Health at the Columbia University Medical Center. She received the Medal of Honor from New York Medical College for outstanding achievements and was named a Fellow of the Virginia Apgar Society, an honor bestowed on Columbia University faculty that recognizes individual achievement and commitment to education excellence. Dr. Giardina is a member of the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE) and she has mentored more than 40 students, residents, fellows and young attendings in the specialty of cardiovascular disease, women's health and nutrition.

Biography: Dr. Bell, a native of Seattle, WA., received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in 1990. After working as an engineer for several years, he returned to university to pursue a career in medicine, and also obtained a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition. As a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, he attended the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences medical school in Bethesda, MD., the only military medical school in the U.S., earning his medical degree in 2002. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Bell spent fourteen years as a Naval officer and physician, where he received multiple awards, including recognition as one of the top five Internal Medicine doctors in the US Navy in 2010. He left active duty service in 2013, and continues service as a commander in the Naval Reserves. Dr. Bell has a particular interest in keeping patients healthy with exercise, diet, and lifestyle improvements. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, rock climbing, running, cycling, and traveling.
