She earned her medical degree from Dow Medical College in Pakistan, and completed her internal medicine residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She completed fellowship training in endocrinology and metabolism at Cook Hospital, and served as a senior research fellow in metabolism, endocrinology and nutrition at the University of Washington, Seattle. Since 1998, Dr. Quddusi has worked as an instructor in clinical endocrinology at the University of Washington Medical Center and is now the Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine.
